20€ for a dlc is quite usual but depends on how long it is.

10€ for the patch is lame though...

I installed it, but didn't have much time to play it.

As for haptic, they are noticable. As well as addaptive triggers.

Framerate was rock solid on PS5 even with BC mode, so there are no differences.

Resolution does seem a bit higher in native PS5 version than in PS4BC mode.

Also, loading times are very small in native PS5 version, but even in BC mode they weren't very high.

So, most difference I noticed are in haptics and addaptive triggers.

It's pretty decent, it's just AssCreed in Feudal Japan though. Maybe a bit more polished in some areas? I've just played 2 hours so maybe i'll change my mind.

The graphics is a mixed bag (PS5), ranges from really atmospheric to something that looks worse than Skyrim - just.. bland and low poly/undetailed with very lacking texture work. Not a fan of how much of the environment uses one color - e.g all grass and ground is a very specific green color, then you look at some tree and its only a very specific red for the leaves. Makes it look cartoony in a weird way. I like night time with the lighting on the grass etc, that does look really nice (maybe not super realistic but whatever).

Might switch to black and white mode, it's how i remember the best samurai movies after all.

The gush of wind thing, not a big fan, how does it even work vertically.. it would be one thing if they tried to create a game completely without markers, i'd give them creds, but it has plenty of them for other stuff, why not for location too, meh. it's also a pretty vague locator since the game is always windy, so a windy layer upon wind.

Why not the standard locator but over time it fades away so it's not always on the screen, that would be better and less vague. It feels like i'm gonna drag upwards quite a lot to not go completely off course...
Asscreed does this really excellent with the bird, you get a really good grip of exactly what path you need to take.

god how i hate the sound coming from the controller btw.. dude who came up with this needs to get fired, it's awful and immersion breaking. why is a poor mobile-quality sound coming off my controller - e.g drawing my sword. is it supposed to indicate that the character sometimes moves from the place he's usually in to my lap, e.g every time he draws his sword? it's very nonsensical.

I think you can disable the sound from the controller, one of the first things i did along dimming the lights on controller both in DS4 and DualSense. Should be an option in PS5 setting.
ok saw on reddit its on Settings - Sound - Volume - Controller Speake
So try it if you don't like it.

yeah i'll disable it..

i looked in my inventory, got an armor set with extra health, got som charm too.. both for free.
why do they keep doing this shit? I can almost hear the dev cackling "huhu let's ruin the players sense of progression from broken armor to real armor with additional health and just provide it in the inventory for free muahahaha!" because there's no way they can think it's "fun" for the player.

anyways, enjoying it, not more or less than any assassins creed though. i hate the fucking spear guys, find them close to impossible, way harder than stand-off which is just far too easy imo, not failed that once. not exactly sure how it's even supposed to work against spears, that red thing appears and stays there, when exactly am i supposed to parry? i parry and i still see the red-whatever..

i've also noticed that when you die you often "win" automatically because it makes the enemies you fought cleared and you don't have to deal with them. unless they are close to some settlement, then they don't disappear. it's very odd and it feels kinda sucky when you can't give an enemy group another go.

There is a skill you unlock, that allows you to parry spears. The red attacks become blue and they are now parriable.

aha.. but in the tutorial you practice this, and you can parry his spear attacks.. so it was not really a thing you can do, but something you can learn later, kind of odd but good to know.

I got it last year day one for PS4 and didn't hook me. Played 2 hours and left it for a later time. Fast forward till now, upgraded it to the Director's Cut on PS5 and started playing from scratch. I like how they did the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers implementation. They add really cool immersion into the game. Very Happy

Just feels so clunky, and the GFX are so much worse. I'm sure its a good game, in the scheme of tings. Considering everything is basically shit now.

I just wanted to pick this up but it looks so ... stiff in all videos. But I did really enjoyed infamous 2nd son Crying or Very sad

This game is definitely NOT stiff... Not sure what is supposed to be stiff about this game, lol. Animations are great, voice acting (Japanese obviously) feels super on target, the pacing is good (compared to TLOU2 which outstayed its welcome roughly 2/3 of the way through), character mobility serves the purpose, the design is incredible detailed and the story is genuinely interesting/enjoyable.

It has awesome combat (especially if you play on higher difficulties where both you AND the enemy will do more lethal attacks), very responsive.
And a really immersive story if you're into Samurai stuff, they really did it extremely well. It felt like I played through an Akira Kurosawa movie.

The graphics are mostly good enough as long as you don't look too closely.
The design complements it very well.

I have been playing this for hours now, I like it. I like the story. but its as clunky as hell, the AI is pretty much shit. Play RDR2 for an hour and come back to this, you will think you have gone back in time.

Especially compared to RDR2 it plays very smoothly, you dont have to wait 5 secs for your character to move after pressing a button Laughing

Game is still like something from the ps3 era, real old school game mechanics. I like it, buts its a retro nostalgia trip for sure.

I don't know about that. What do you consider current gen game mechanics?

What you probably mean is that just like Assassins Creed and many other games its very main stream when it comes to the mechanics, it's supposed to appeal to a lot of people and not a niche market.

If you again mean RDR2, i would probably agree, which other open world game exists like that though, you do understand it's a totally different budget than absolutely anything out there...

I agree, I'm probably been a little harsh, I just come from playing uncharted 4 and TLOU2 and they are so slick with the way everything is handled. I know they are different games, with different scope. Just whining for no good reason probably. Laughing

I stopped playing TLOU2 because i hated how dated the mechanics felt in that game, i was surprised it hadn't changed at all almost from the first game. Uncharted 4 i could never really get into because i fucked up all the time due to the clumsy controls, worse than TLOU imo. The graphics in TLOU2 was amazing though.
