I don't agree. It looks pretty natural to me and not overdone at all. There are fortunate people with perfect skin but it's far from being a norm. It would be cool if skin got more red depending on how active she is, or dependant on weather (like cold) or in this case perhaps reacting to the blight.
I'd dare anyone to dive into cold water, jump, run for hours on end, fight and do summersaults for hours and then have no redness at all anywhere in the face. no red nose or cheeks.. lol. it won't happen, you'd look way more beat up than she is.
Watch women doing some sports like swimming or skiing, even with make-up they wont look like in a commercial on TV, or in some porn (which i guess is the gold standard here when it comes to seeing women ).
Yeah i couldnt deal with 30 fps either. Playing performance mode too and its a no brainer of you ask me. World should be past this 30 fps shit years ago already
Well of course redness based on how cold she is would be awesome. Now though its just her skin. She's red as fuck even in temperate areas.
so? what she's doing most of the time in this game would be quite the work out.. irl she'd be more red, she'd have blisters, red scratches, dirt all over. optimally dirt would wash away with diving or rain, redness could disappear when in towns, not doing action-stuff. I think they've found a good middle ground.
the first time i tried Resolution mode i laughed out loud, it was like 15 FPS.. but if you restart the game it seems like it does get better but not 30 FPS.
BTW, surprise surprise, in Red Dead Redemption 2, when in very cold weather, Arthur Morgan’s face reddens. He also gets progressively more dirty, and eventually can get infections and other skin issues if not bathed after a while.
I didn't want to compare performance mode vs resolution yet because i'm scared of what I will see but performance mode (as expected after youtubing) doesn't look as clean as Spiderman & Ratchet & Clank. Huge disappointment in that matter.
Antialiasing solution seems shitty, maybe they are using FXAA I would think because it reminded me of PC games when I enabled FXAA (aka vaseline).
The trampled grass feature seems cool? It annoys me rather often when i hunt animals in HZD, that the grass is completely covering it.. in this you should be able to both track the animal a little more easy (by looking at the grass) + see it better.. i've just played the initial start (1h) so i dont know.. and sure you can use the focus, but i wish i wouldnt need to use it so often.
Are the cities still rather... artificial? in HZD they feel a bit too fake, Witcher 3 had that problem too (in comparison to something like TES where you can open every drawer, every door, explore people's basements etc).
Ok, i kind of expected that. I did read in a preview some weeks ago that they did change NPC's to have schedules, i wonder if that is BS though.. did you see this, NPC's going to sleep etc?
Even the previous game had it with snow, and i now just saw that the cool looking moss (which is also in Death Stranding) is also in a few places in HZD.
Did you try the gyro function with aiming btw...? some people say it's a real game changer. gonna test later. i have two main quests left in HZD, gonna play frozen wild before finishing them..

My wife is playing this and other than the graphics which are stunning, it seems not great. I hate the NPC tagalongs and them constantly telling you what to do in the middle of a battle (USE POISON DAMAGE!!! TRY POISON!) Shaddap and let the player figure it out, goddamn. Reminds me of the Witcher 2 Keyran battle.. USE YRDEN!!! Every 5 seconds
Still haven't started playing it since they're so busy with patching, we are on 1.13 now so above video is old but yeah it seems they still can't really fix the blurriness.
