Starting on October 16 with Ghost Of Tsushima version 1.1, you can equip the Charm of Canine Recruitment in New Game+ to pet dogs and turn them into allies.
Finally played a few hours with Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. Had a good time and its much better than I was expecting. And for free, its pretty substantial content!
Started it yesterday and i like it, combat feels different from AC Valhalla, at least at the beginning.. i die a lot in this, like you can't mash to win.. feels different and i like it. The wind mechanics i don't like.. would be better to include a mini map.. i just don't activate missions on map so i can avoid the wind.. too distracting.
Graphics looks good and 60fps is tho i have some anti aliasing problem with the game, like on trees and grass but i have no power for this shit anymore so i enjoy what i can and try to ignore tho it's hard.
Story and characters looks ace, not knowing the Tsushima history makes it even better. Looks like a very good game.
no urgency to get this right now, but definitely going to pick it up when it goes on a deep discount as it looks really enjoyable, especially now with the PS5 back compat improvements
It's awesome! 30+ hours in and yay it's very good, i like the world they made, exploring is very fun, combat is one of the main highlights to me, feels so good with many options as ghost or samurai, much better then my recent game played AC Valhalla. Side quests and story are very good also, Jin armors is sick! I must add this to one of 3 new ips Sony added last gen, Horizon, Days Gone and now after playing this also Ghost of Tsushima.. not bad at all!
And done, took me 75 hours, liberated all 3 areas, did all question marks, still have some cosmetic items to find but i'm done.
It was great, i like Jin, i like the other main characters, even the bad guy is awesome, gameplay as i said is very fun, tho as many games once you upgraded your character then it may be boring or repetitive but you get many options during combat so it's still fun.
Ending spoilers:
Spoiler:
Ending with your uncle was so good, i let him live, and seeing Jin embrace being the ghost finally was very satisfying, all the game had great style and i loved it.
As for the sequel i wonder if we going to fight the new samurais.. will there be new mongols maybe?
Also did they show all Tsushima? Since if yes then having a sequel on same map may be not so great.
Sucker Punch did a great work and i like their games, thanks to their quick PS5 patching i can justified my 40 bucks purchase.
Was waiting for 7.55 to become more reliably hackable before playing this, but it was available for $10 for about 15 seconds from Playstation Direct a couple nights ago, so picked it up then and will play on PS5.
At this point i ll rather not play something at all, if i cant play it on 60 fps.
30 fps has been bad enough but since I got an LG CX oled tv its impossible to play in 30 fps, its horrible.
Was it 10$ ? Damn I missed it, I’m playing it on my 6.72 ps4 but 30 fps suckssss.
Wish i could play it on ps5 but can’t justify paying 60$ to play it at 60 FPS instead of 30...
Yeah, saw a tweet notification from wario64, tapped it, was already logged in so able to check out quickly, then it was no longer available. Not sure what the promotion was intended to actually be, but pretty sure it wasn't this!
Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut will be available as a full-price digital and physical release, costing $59.99 USD on PS4 and $69.99 USD on PS5. Those that pre-order via the PS Store can download the existing PS4 version of the game immediately, and all progress will transfer to the Director's Cut on release (this is also the case if you already own the original game).
Additionally, owners of the original edition have the option to upgrade to the Director's Cut at any time from 20th August. It'll cost $19.99 USD to upgrade from the original version to the Director's Cut on PS4 and $29.99 USD to do so on PS5. Those that purchase the PS4 Director's Cut can upgrade to the PS5 version for $9.99.
So 20 bucks for DLC if you have the PS4 version
30 bucks for DLC plus upgrade to whatever the PS5 version offer.
They could skipped the extra 10 bucks for upgrading from PS4 to PS5, considering the digital version never dropped from $40 and it's not so old...
But i did get my money worth from playing the PS4 version on PS5, might only get the DLC if it's good.
While Director’s Cut players on both PS4 and PS5 will be able to experience the Iki Island content, PlayStation 5 players will have access to a few additional new features.
We’ve heard your feedback about the lack of Japanese lip sync in the original version of Ghost of Tsushima, and it’s something we worked hard to address in this new release. Thanks to the PS5’s ability to render cinematics in real time, cutscenes in Ghost of Tsushima and on Iki Island on PS5 will now offer lip sync for Japanese voice over.
We’re also happy to confirm that Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, and the new Iki Island expansion will all take advantage of haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in the Director’s Cut. There will also be enhancements to 3D audio* on PS5, as well as drastically improved load times, 4K resolution options** and framerates targeting 60 FPS.
English dubbing was great so i don't care about jap voice..
Don't use any vibration on controller so not for me.
Loading is quick as it is, so i guess i will just buy the DLC, still feels a bit like taking advantage of the gamers who bought it on PS4.. sounds to me like a patch more then something you should pay.

Yeah...in light of this, I'm more grateful (but surprised) that Sucker Punch ever dropped that PS5 patch earlier in the year. With that, the game runs at 60fps 1800p and looks gorgeous. The load times were already very good on PS4 and are negligible on PS5.
Perhaps it was before they decided on this 'director's cut' cash-in? Look at Death Stranding and the 30fps lock, even on PS5. No patch for that will ever come now because they want your money for the incoming director's cut PS5 version.
...i'm not sure these devs understands how wild life works? hell, even cats you meet outdoors are impossible to pet most of the time.. i've had a cat visiting though my window (steals my cats food hehe) for almost a year, he sees me daily, impossible to pet him/her.
I was hoping the new upcoming version would let me disable those damn distracting *gust of wind* effects.
small thing but it kept annoying me throughout the game because it hurt the beautiful aesthetic every time they appear imo
And it's so redundant with leaves and grass and trees already showing you the direction clearly enough
probably not gonna change though :-(
am I the only one who's bothered by that effect?
on another note - I still haven't played legends, but I don't really wanna play with randoms. is it worth playing solo or is it a pure multiplayer thing? anyone tried?

Not to defend the pricing but it's $20 for the new expansion and $10 for the next-gen patch.
They should have made the next-gen patch for free imo, but you don't pay $30 for just a patch, you get more content as new island.
@Surray i made a comment about this above... I also didn't like the effect and just disabled the mission on map when i could.
