So I've had the HD600's now for a couple of days and I have to say I'm glad I bought them.
Besides the audio (which I still will improve with the amp) they sit so well on my head. They might sit a bit tight but I like it because they don't feel as if they're going to fall off when I lean my head just a little bit forward. At one time I even forgot I had them on my head after a while, which was nice.

Still want to try them out with the topping amp but so far I'm happy with my purchase and thanks for the tip. Very Happy

I got myself some cheap HD419's during the sale, my old Phillips one finally broke down at the swivel and had taped it the past weeks

It's great for what it's being used for: every day gaming/shows with enough comfort and quality for it. They close well off and are soft/smooth around the ears for longer sessions.
So I didn't want the higher end models for that. Can always use my fiancee's 598 if I want some 'earporn'. Smile

Ok, so just for kicks I looked at Amazon right before going to sleep 2 days ago, and saw that there was some kind of sale going on on headphones. My lucky day. I just busted 2 sets of earplugs because of the shitty cables. Looked at BT ones, saw TaoTronics BH22 for £60, saying that the original price was £130. Even though it's the same price everywhere, so that "sale" was BS, but here's the kicker...

They also included a VAVA MOOV 21 fully wireless earbuds in with the order, for free. For £60, now I have a somewhat decent ANC bluetooth headset, as well as a semi-decent set of earbuds for work.

Talk about being at the right place at the right time. Razz

Although the packages were suspiciously unsealed, but everything seem to be the genuine article.

I'm completely lost on this one.

Tried searching and simply nothing comes up on google no matter how I try to word it.

So I have an ANC pair of headphones (Lindy BNX-60). Had to buy a new one because the older ones broke after a while (Taotronics tt-bh22).

The thing is, there is a really annoying and pronounced rapid thumping noise coming from my headphones when the ANC is on and I tilt my head a certain way.

I had the same problem with my previous pair, but that one was even worse. In cold environments, it would go bonkers. First it would start that thumping noise, and after a while it would turn into a really loud and irritating high pitched whistle.

The old ones only had this issue on the left side. The new one only has the thumping noise (so far no high-pitched whine).

Any idea what the fuck this is? I though my old ones were simply faulty (I think they broke because I kept tapping the side to knock whatever came loose due to cold-shrinkage back in place), but now a completely different brand has the same thumping issue.

Sounds like a shitty internal amp.

Dunno if you're interested in spending a little bit more for something way the hell better but if this is in your budget they're really good headphones, espcially for bass heads.

https://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Crossfade-Wireless-Over-Ear-Headphone/dp/B015R7AGHC

you can buy their boom mic attachment and turn them into a headset for games though it'll be wired at that point.

I dunno. Both of them have the same issue, and ONLY when ANC is on.

Maybe it's some kind of feedback, like the ANC hears itself and tries to cancel itself or something.

Any idea of massdrop ships to Poland and how expensive that would be?
I am eyeballing hd6XX or hd58x since normal hd600 is almost twice as expensive here.

How expensive? Here they start at €300 (I've got an old pair of Sennheiser HD2xx-something).

Massdrop stuff is notorious for shoddy quality on their products, especially their headphones, i think just about every version of theirs had recalls at one point or another. Paid good money for my AKG K7xx and ended up having to ship them back across the country and wait another month. Their customer support is pretty much a joke.

Whether or not it's on the manufacture having to cut corners to get in the price range they want, you're still better off just getting a "normal" version of whatever instead of playing the gamble of their shit not being broke.

Its cheaper for a reason. It's not magic I guess. These are still expensive especially with abroad shipping and so on.

Btw has anyone tried any of wireless virtual surround headphones lately? I've never had wireless or surround. Would need to work on ps4 and pc. Maybe gaming headphone market grew a little thanks to hyperx smuggling takstar into gaming headsets few years ago... Although Ive never liked its sound. Pro80/cloud always sounded too weak and to flat. No fun or bass I would expect from movie/gaming headphone. Koss porta pro is way more musical.
Last time I've tried dolby headphone on some old xonar card, the effect kinda worked but it shattered the sound quality.

I have HD600, they are great, but you might wanna check out Beyerdynamic DT990 pro, amazing soundstage from such cheap headphones, they are also built like a tank and are very comfortable, i like them more than Sennheiser, their bass is little more deeper and highs sounds to my ear more detailed. What kind of Headphone amp you have? Both Sennheiser / Beyerdynamic can sound very different, depends heavily what kind of amp you got.

Anyone uses noise canceling headphone in home ?
I've had a chance to try on Sony 1000 xm3 and I am very impressed by comfort and noise canceling. Did not had much of a chance to listen to it though... and it's more expensive than Sennheiser HD600... which is more expensive than momentum... which is more expensive than takstar pro82. Oh headphones

I've always been on the fense to pick up a pair of Beyers but I refuse to pay a "premium" price for headphones and the cable isn't removable when literally every other headphone manufacturer out there is doing it. Also Fostex, almost bought a pair of their high-end wood ones for a dumb low price and the cable is permanent.

hmmm that's not it... Hyperx cloud flight seems interesting and has good measurements on rtings but how about Takstar pro81 OR Cooler Master MH751 (seemingly improved 82's ? Everyone says those are comfortable but I wonder if these have any bass... I miss headhpones that have some low end.
edit: tested those (cloud ii and flight) - my porta pro blows those out of the water. Not changing headphone. In fact - I should buy few more porta pro boxes and hide those in the cellar. And few ksc75 pairs for a good measure Laughing

I've got the V-Moda M100's with their gaming mic and upgraded earpads that pound pretty god damn hard, trying to sell those though. They really do well with something that has a mobile amp built in to power that low end. Sony NW-A45 is a neat ass little player.

Oh I just noticed he posted it was from Amazon. Sellers on there are dumb as hell. Anything that sells out or is taken out of production they jack the prices up thinking it's worth more. They went crazy with the Phillips SHP9500 were discontinued. They're like 60 dollar headphones and most are wanting around 100 for them now. Granted they're still incredible for 100 bucks but the fact remains, they're 60 dollar headphones and they can fuck off.

Look what arrived from Japan !!!
Brand new thick as fuck YAXI PADS. comfier and not itchy like originals so far. Gives some space for the sound but I don't think the signature changes much. The sound is still bassy and fun like it should be on Koss Porta pro. I really like this headphone... I know people make fun of it but I cannot find other headphone with similar fun sound signature like these.
