50% output pixels doens't mean "50%" better looking game overal or the hardware is actually that better ,there are other factors you need to take here.
so far Obviously PS4 can do better res at bit more stable FPS then Bone(which even I said around 2 days a go),taken from BF4 case.
people expced something like 720p 1080p gap between Bone and PS4 ,which is not the case so far.

Edit:
@ Werelds, since when is pixel density proportional to system power? I'm certainly no pro but I don't think it works that way
It does for small GPUs. It isn't exactly 1:1, but rendering 50% more pixels generally requires 40-50% more horsepower (and note that it's not only shaders, it also requires more ROPs to actually push those pixels out - which the XBO also lacks). It is very close, add to that the better AO and you're easily looking at a GPU that is doing 50% more work in this particular scenario. And it does so with better framerates, so that puts the difference over 50%.
Just look at benchmarks for low to mid-end GPUs on PC; from 900p to 1080p (44% more pixels) you see performance drop by some 35%. From 1080p to 1440p (77% more pixels) you generally see about 65% performance drops. With the bigger GPUs that difference is less profound, as particularly AMD's GPUs are built to be able to deal with those resolutions (as a result a 290X only drops some 40% going from 1080p to 1600p, which is nearly twice the amount of pixels). Those GPUs have a lot more ROPs, can spread their load more evenly and can simply work through each frame more efficiently.

Who said anything about "better looking"? I'm talking an objective, factual metric. 900p is 50% more pixels to render, it's that simple. And it does so with better results, as the DF video clearly shows.
But to hook in on that, yes, 900p does look better than 720p. And unlike you have some huge living room, you probably sit about 2m away from a 42-46" display. And at that distance, unless you got really shit eyesight you can easily tell the difference in pixel density.
yeah well, xone looks better in that imo,(I know this is not true from a purely technical standpoint) the jaggies in the background are clearly more visible on x1, but the image really is a lot sharper and there is apparently a different lighting system? look around the face of the black guy there are highlights in the xone ver., that aren't present in the ps4 ver. however, still both look good imo. And why are some clouds black on ps4 and white on x1. Also I don't understand why he is wearing different camouflage in the 2 versions.

That is over-saturation and contrast failure. Look at the butt of the gun: that is entirely black on the XBO, completely obscuring any details on it. Those "highlights" are in fact an error. Furthermore the PS4 has AO, which means that it renders soft shadows on places like faces when they're only partially lit.
If the FXAA could be disabled on the PS4 version you'd see how much better that looks aside from that. FXAA fucks up any image and I don't get why people love it so much.

It isn't 100% scripted. The XBO version has the sandstorm closer.

thanks for the clarification, it's a shame then that the ps4 ver. uses FXAA
they can always improve things with patches, heck, in 6 months they might find additional power in PS4 and enable 1080p with a patch for ps4. who knows.
Something tells me DICE gave exactly 0 shits about making what is a fantastic looking game and engine work flawlessly on the ancient, outgoing consoles

Oh my god... the PS4 and XO look both like ass. I wish the PS4 was 600€ with some good Nvidia GPU. This is really looking like 2002 PC back in the day. The PC is getting ready for 4K and the next gen can't handle 720p in 60fps.
Huh? The PS4 version is 900p and it looks great. Obviously not as good as a high end PC and it doesn't sustain 60 during multiplayer, but it still looks good Are you confusing this with the PS3 version or something?

troll more? you need to flick between direct capture screenshots of ps4/pc versions to actually see the difference.
maybe you are forgetting/ignoring some key aspects:
-bf4 is a launch title (remember how launch titles looked on ps3/360 and how more recent games look, it's night and day).
-price. for the price of ps4 you can't even buy gtx780 (with recent price cut too).
-bf5 will run 1080p 60fps stable on ps4, you'll see

What magic powers will make the hardware faster? The consoles have crappy hardware and it's based on x86 shit devs have been coding for the last 30 years. Both Sony and Microsoft went for the mainstream crowd. They only care about sharing, facebook, twitter and netflix. I am really getting sick of these people defending big company's even when they get fucked over. They put old hardware in new boxes and called it next gen. I did not expect 4K @ 60fps but common struggling to get 720p at 60fps is pure shit. These consoles look outdated even before they launch and they should last for 10 fucking years pfff whatever.
Hardware won't get faster. Drivers will get more optimised though. Developers will learn every trick about using every single shader and clock tick they can. And especially on the PS4, with its 64-wide GPGPU front has lots and lots to learn about squeezing every bit of power out.

You do realise that the majority of consoles *don't* run x86, right? Not going for that x86 "shit" won't help performance in any way; quite the contrary. x86 is what everyone knows, combined with its common extensions such as SSE, there's nothing wrong with it.
The "Gep" between the consoles can also be shorted with better drivers/optimization ,higher res of few games deosn't really tell the real gap is,as was with some of the the games previews gen.
Bone Battlefield 4 already confirmed AO to be added in day one patch(with some other "fixes") ,also, Sports titles from EA and 2K so far confirmed to run Both consoles 1080 60 FPS .
