Not sure where I should post this, but I was wondering how many Xbox 360 games have problems playing when extracting with exiso? I know a few do, but it would be very advantageous to see beforehand since I always extract games using exiso to save space, and I might not even try it until later, then showing a problem. Is there a database of some sorts, similar to some sites covering regions ie PAL/NTSC??

I need some help.
I am preparing my 360 for gta V and jsut wanted to play some games but it is banned.
I have 360 system update from about a year ago and lt.30 flashed. Dont remember how to reflash again but can I install (and where to find it) newest system update ?
Or would it revert to stock. I remember one update which introduced xgd3, did that
How nowadays do I use title updates offline (from usb stick) ?
oh and is there a way to test power of my console ? To be sure it is working as any other 360 out there
:edit: nevermind. updated and using horizon for applying title updates on usb stick

GTA V broke me down and I've decided to buy XBOX 360 for it. Can't wait for the PC version.
Before getting one, was wondering which "hack" should I get it with. Currently have the option between xkey, LT3 and RGH (latest versions on all). Which one is better (most compatible) and will allow me to play on live too?

RGH is the best one, but you can't play online.
If you want to play online and pay a lot less than xkey I suppose go for LT3.

How hard is it to flash a drive these days? I have an ancient BenQ and given the release of GTA I guess I could flash it rather than go buy the game with the £0 I have in the bank right now.
What do I need to know?

Hey
I've bought a second-hand X360 sometime ago to mod it and play some games on it. Today I opened it to look for what kind of drive(DG 16d4S) it has and which firmware it has (which is 0225). So now I found out that it's write protected or so. What exactly do I need to buy to mod it with a xk3y? I know I need a X360USB Pro V2 and a xk3y modchip. What else do I need? I just want to play some games on it using an external hdd. Does XBLA games work on it? Downloaded 2 games but they aint in dvd/iso format so. For online I don't really care since I aint gonna pay to play MP. And a hdd is easier then burning a disc anyway, since I got that rdy.

Is there a solderless, chipless method to mod a Xbox360 250GB slim?

Mod how? JTAG/RGH? No, they're solder mods by their very nature. DVD? Yessssssss... depending on exactly what revision drive you have. You'll still need the flash read/write/probe kit though as there hasn't - to my knowledge - been a "toolless" flash solution since waaaaay back in the BenQ days.

Meh, I'll just play it on the PS3. |
There's no soldering required for modding the DVD drive (unless you're incredibly unlucky and have the very latest LiteOn, which is a bit more involved iirc) - you just need non-solder tools for dumping the drive key and then enabling a write-back function, combined with your desktop PC and software. Honestly though, you're probably better served by having someone else flash it for you.. or as you said, if it's just for one game, sticking to PS3.
