Why does it need to be a memorable date? Wouldn't the date regardless of what day it is be a memorable date? The day the most important discovery of mankind was revealed?
And why Christmas? Is this discovery Judeo-Christian centric? Why do just the people that believe in a particular sky dad get their day picked for a universal truth discovery reveal party? That date isnt memorable to everyone. Some people don't care about Christmas, its just another day to them...
All the theatrics and symbolism they need around it for it to have 'illusion of depth and meaning' seem a bit hocus-pocus and exact opposite of how important discoveries are done...maybe its just me 
Im waiting for the 'reveal' to the same as the heavens gate people (I think it was them..or one like it) that said on so-and-so day aliens would come lift them away...to find out they went out that day, stood in a feild then claimed success. Because while nothing happened, they said the aliens lifted their 'spirits and essence' into the ship and they transpired into a higher state of 'being' by doing so.
When really it was they walked into a field, stared at the sky and walked around, then left..claiming invisible unconfirmable amazing shit happened.

I was suprised of how much attention they are paying to the astrology and planets.
Anyways, the big spirit of christmas has a much more impact than you can imagine.

I feel there is a lot of mundane things based on superstition people do that surprise you with awe and wonder
And do tell, what does the spirit of Christmas have as far as impact that I am unable to even fathom in my wildest imagination. And that doesn't answer the question I asked of why such a particular religion's day out of 100's of religions, to pick to reveal what should be a religious agnostic discovery.
Does it not seem odd, and 'human egoist' to pick one particular day, and that 'day' is based on specifically the rotation speed of only one planet of millions (or more)..our own planet, around its mundane star (out of billions and billions), and that day is also is based in the story of one person of that planet 2000 years ago, that not everyone on it even beleives...to reveal a discovery that effects/applies to every..single..living..'thing' that has existed past/present/future in the universe?
