Bit surprised how many people are out at that hour, less surprised how many of them are idiots though xD Seen dipshits driving in their car looking down on their phones and more idiotic behaviour.
I bet the businesses in town are loving it though. The amount of people going into the supermarkets to get snacks was more than double of the normal rate. Terrace of the eating places/pubs also seem a bit more crowded than before. Well the ones near a pokestop are xD
Well she's glad she caught some night pokemons and I amused myself with observing the people and nature xD Not something I'd do on a daily basis though. As for the game, I'm not really interested in it. Seems a bit skinny on gameplay... i'd rather play one of those gameboy games then. |
I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!
I also love how this game is brings people together. I spent the weekend catching Pokemon here in New York and random people were helping other others out. One example I saw was one guys phone ran out of battery and another stranger offered him to use his battery pack to recharge his phone while we were all at a pokestop. I started playing this on Thursday and I reached level 15 so far
Im going to be a gym leader some day. You just wait

Is there a map that shows all gym locations? Would be nice to see where all the gyms in my town are so I can take them all.

So hard to try and keep all the gyms, 9 total, under my name. Attacking a gym is way too easy, it doesn't really matter what is defending it when you can attack with 6 Pokemons and multiple people at the same time, my 2700 Dragonites don't really stand a chance, even with multiple Pokemons under same gym.
Drove around for several hours with a friend today trying to keep all the gyms under control, max we got at same time was 8, almost immediatly back to 7. 6 gyms we can keep pretty reliably, maybe 7 if the weather is not so damn good that all the kids are out chasing Pokemons.

From what I've read online, people are raging hard as fuck over them removing the pokemon tracker (thus shutting down pokevision)

I believe that the pokemon tracker and shutting down pokevision are two separate things. But both of those things did piss off people like hell.
Pokevision was basically the only real way to "track" pokemon since the tracker was previously broken, but the developers seem to have temporarily (or permanently, we don't know) given up on bringing back the tracker while also rolling out an update that makes life harder (or impossible, we don't know) for pokevision.
With that said, I think pokevision worked independently from the tracker, since they gave perfectly accurate position for the pokemons. That's not what the tracker was doing.

pokevision also apparently got a cease and desist notice, so they're fucked in 2 ways.
i think it's ok that niantic removed the 3 steps feature (for now!) because server stability and it was useless anyway, but if they don't (re-)introduce some sort of working system that allows you to aim for specific pokemons, user counts will hit rock bottom hard.

I always treated finding pokemon as random. Never went out looking for SPECIFIC ones. Go near water, find random water types. Go near parks and find random grass types etc.

- a dragonite, wartortle, 2 jynx and several hypnos (drowzees are as common as pidgeys here) as my gym squad
- several evees waiting for a high cp catch for evolutions
- masses of pidgeys, rats, weedles and drowzees that i was too lazy yet to transfer to the meat grinder
apart from those, it's just random diverse low cp (<400) crap i keep for the sole reason of having one of each kind

thus why everyone's upset. You basically walk around aimlessly now. Supposedly the tracker was too hard on their server and they're tweaking something.

Why would the tracker even be hard on the server? Just let the phone calculate it.. from what I've read it shouldn't be hard. The phone still shows what is nearby, so it knows where those pokemon are and where you are. Bit of math and voila.
But this last update is all kinds of meh to me..
I'm finding it harder to catch pokemon. Hitboxes seem to have changed and wild pokemon seem to be way more active with jumps and attacks, making me spend many more balls than before (and I was already running out since I got to 20+).
They removed bonus xp from getting nice or great throws for some reason (not seen an excellent yet, so can't say for sure, but I imagine that's gone too). But curveballs still do... Good luck hitting the pokemon that are further back now though.
It feels like they want me to spend money on the pokeballs and eggs for more xp.. but what this does is push me away. They are getting nothing this way.

For some reason its harder to catch crap pokemon. I can't seem to catch weedles or rattatas. But catching a jigglypuff is fine

Quote: | "We have read your posts and emails and we hear the frustration from folks in places where we haven’t launched yet, and from those of you who miss these features," Niantic wrote in a Facebook post. "We want you to know that we have been working crazy hours to keep the game running as we continue to launch globally. If you haven’t heard us Tweeting much it’s because we’ve been heads down working on the game. But we’ll do our best going forward to keep you posted on what’s going on."
To that end, Niantic has explained two of its recent and more controversial decisions (removing the 3-step tracker and blocking third-party tracking sites) saying "[w]e have removed the ‘3-step’ display in order to improve upon the underlying design. The original feature, although enjoyed by many, was also confusing and did not meet our underlying product goals. We will keep you posted as we strive to improve this feature.
"We have limited access by third-party services which were interfering with our ability to maintain quality of service for our users and to bring Pokémon GO to users around the world. The large number of users has made the roll-out of Pokémon GO around the world an... interesting… challenge. And we aren’t done yet! Yes, Brazil, we want to bring the game to you (and many other countries where it is not yet available)." |
May the NFOrce be with you always.

Only with fake GPS, as there are several region-only Pokemons. Or they are really filthy rich and got all the time in the world at the same time. |
someone's already proven they're not region based. It's a matter of where you're at. Some places rares pop up all the time, some places don't. It's more luck of being by the spawn points. |
Where? Source? |
Google. There's only 4 pokemon that are "region based" and by that it means catching them in the wild. You can hatch them in eggs which has been confirmed multiple times. Not that I personally would know because I'm not walking fucking 10km to hatch a god damn egg
