Morrowind is a poor game and seriously overrated at the time, don't bother unless you're nostalgic about this game.
No it wasn't. When it came out even graphically it was impressive. To this date, almost 20 years later, it still has a strong community and a strong modding scene...
Hmm i just actually finished morrowind for the first time a few years ago and it still holds up as a masterpiece. Naturally i did play it before. At release actually, but i never finished it.
Combat in Morrowind is giving the player sense of progression, the more you fight the better you get, regardless being archer or melee or mage. I did not sense that in Oblivion or Skyrim which i did find little boring but i finished it. Ton of different potions you can make/buy.Mix that sense of progression with astonishing level design of caves, every cave is different, design of whole world/land, ton of interesting locations, magic mushroom trees and absolutely the best music/soundtrack that game could have and you get masterpiece.

Wake me up when theres Morrowind RTX. Ironically a game where it could really shine. A lot of water bodies and reflective surfaces. Could add some puddles when raining as well.. Not to mention all the global illumination, dynamic shadows and cool lighting in dungeons.
The age of AI is something else.. and it has only just begun
What this will do for games or even mods/fan projects is absolutely amazing
If this were to fall under free use you could literally make voiced over mods for oblivion, skyrim, whatever, and the dialogue would fit seemlessly into those games
Too bad AI will also be the downfall of civilization
Never played the game but always heard about these annoying things. After a google search, found out why Cliff Racers never appeared again.
Haha yep, he's definitely earned himself his sainthood
Morrowind's lore is such a fascinating subject, along with the brilliant way quests are presented by expecting the player to actually think and read carefully. It's the main reason I consider the game timeless in its own mysterious and atmospheric way, and also what sets it apart from the more modern Bethesdan productions. Some of the game's core elements feel objectively obsolete/static, but it's always very satisfying to see your character gradually gaining power and tackling a hostile and alien unleveled world.
Speaking of cliffracers, I've been playing OpenMW + MGE XE and with the extended draw distance(s) you actually see the nasty bastards angrily flapping up in the sky and you can dodge them or even hit them before they see you. The tables have turned!
