ok i was thinking that it might be fun to see what people think is the best album ever made! what is the classic of all classics for you?

take into consideration:
art
lyrics
music
vibes
extras
sound

and so on...

..........................................................................................................

my favourite album of all time is an easy choice for me. Discharge-why 12" (1982).

not one week song, and the lyrics is straight forward to the point.
"I look out my window to a blinding bright light
Enola passes passes by
Tomorrow tomorrow
A look at tomorrow
Hysterical men women and children
Run in search of their families
I look out of my window to a blinding bright light
Enola passes passes by
Skin is shed like that of snakes
But itís not the work of mother nature"
(a look at tomorrow)

this was what changed a big part of punk for all time. the sound is much harder and faster than previous punk and it has influensed not only punk bands, but also metalbands. like metallica and anthrax and stuff would have sounded alot different without them for example. im not sure thats a good thing, but anyway, you get what i mean; a big influence.

it also have some sentimental value to me, since ive been drinking to this record at least a billion of times and some crazy stuff have happened during theese ocations. Wink

...........................................................................................................

ok lets see those albums.

Dark Side of the Moon, originally released in 1973, is one of those albums that is discovered anew by each generation of rock listeners. This complex, often psychedelic music works very well because Pink Floyd doesn't rush anything; the songs are mainly slow to mid-tempo, with attention paid throughout to musical texture and mood. The sound effects on songs like "On the Run," "Time" and especially "Money" (with sampled sounds of clinking coins and cash registers turned into rhythmic accompaniment) are impressive, especially when we remember that 1973 was before the advent of digital recording techniques. This is probably Pink Floyd's best-known work, and it's an excellent place to start if you're new to the band. --Genevieve Williams

Impossible to answer this question. How about a some albums that I think are great (and haven't been mentioned yet)?

The Damned - Machine Gun Etiquette (1979) (same year I was born!)

Bad Religion - No Control (1989) (BR kicks ass!)

Social Distortion - Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell (1991)

Millencolin - Pennybridge Pioneers (2000) (I like all their albums, but this will do)

Against Me! - Reinventing Axl Rose (2002) (original "folk-punk", whatever that is)

The Transplants - S/T (2002) (awesome album)

Alexisonfire - Watch Out! (2004) (went gold in Canada with almost no radio play)

I <3 Alexisonfire... that album reminds me of last summer. Their self titled is amazing as well.

Although this question is tough I'll try and answer.

Evergreen Terrace - Burned Alive by Time.

TRACK LISTING:
1. Understanding The Fear That Lies Within
2. No Donnie, These Men Are Nihilist
3. Buried Alive By Time
4. Dear Live Journal
5. Funeral Grade Flowers
6. My Heart Beats In Breakdowns
7. Taking Care Of Dead Fish
8. Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'em
9. Absence Of Purpose In The Succession Of Events
10. Heavy Number One

This is one of many albums that I can just go back and listen to 100 times in a row and still love it.

They released a cover CD and a live and rare tracks CD since then but I've been patiently awaiting their new one titled "Sincerity is an Easy Disguise in This Business." It comes out June 21 along with the new On Broken Wings. Can't wait.

My top 3 albums are:

1. Depeche Mode - Music For The Masses (1987)

2. Kraftwerk - Die Mensch Maschine (1978)

3. BAP - Da Capo (1988)

You see only albums from the 80's or older, those were the glory days, and not only in music, too bad these times wont come back Sad

I love their music, but they arent my favorite band. HOWEVER, they do fit this query the best.

My second choice would have to be "Metal Works" by Judas Priest. It is a 2 CD set which is basically a greatest hits compliation BUT instead of putting songs which were billboard favorites, Judas Priest chose THEIR OWN favorite songs, then put them on there.

I would have to say Metallica - Metallica or the Blackalbum.

Heavy sound, deep lyrics and perfect sound production thanks to Bob Rock.
I am a true Metallica fan, even though the Napster thing.

1. Enter sandman
2. Sad but true
3. Holier than thou
4. The unforgiven
5. Wherever I may roam
6. Don't tread on me
7. Through the never
8. Nothing else matters
9. Of wolf and man
10. The god that failed
11. My friend of misery
12. The struggle within

Same here, I really despise them. They aren't true metal, and they arent grunge. For true metal thats when I goto Iron Maiden, for grunge I usually just goto Alice in Chains.
