Anyone know how to fix this?
I've disabled 'proof colors' option, change and disabled every color profile setting I can find, told it to ignore any image embedded color profile..but it still does it.
This is the same exact image of a texture I'm working on, one loaded in PS, the other with picasa in front of PS.
See how they are different? Something in photoshop is correcting it, because it shows the other color everywhere BUT photoshop.
Anyone know how to disable this?? Its driving me crazy.

I know you have disabled colour profiles but I dont know about it that much, but maybe its fucking up as its some sort of print proof colour choice image you are seeing in photoshop?
I think u already checked all that though right
also how reliable is picaso ? and what are the reasons for using both apps

What color profile is your screen? What color profile is the default in Photoshop when there is no profile in the image?
Picasa most likely displays it with a default sRGB profile. Which one do you prefer? If you like the Picasa result, then convert the image in Photoshop to sRGB. If you prefer the Photoshop, assign sRGB to it.

Go into color settings, and see what your RGB working profile is.

I haven't the slightest clue , I've never touched that in windows 7.
But the problem is (for me) its not a matter if my monitor shows it wrong.
Lets say windows picture viewer shows me that texture as wrong, and a bright green, i want photoshop to not do anything to it and show it green also.. You get what Im saying? Im not so worried abut if the color I see is right in windows..More I want Photoshop to stop fucking with it to so it just matches everywhere else that I can possibly open it..It looks the same in picasa, firefox, chrome, windows paint, windows picture viewer, online..in a word document...only place that 'is not like the others' is photoshop
So how do I tell photoshop "stop doing what you think I need..and just open it"
Or am I jumping the gun on where you are leading me to fix it? and i just need to shut up and follow along?

Upload the Photoshop file, I want to take a look.
Photoshop does not do "things" to photos. It is most likely the other shit that is causing the trouble. You just happen to prefer the touched one haha.

I dont think its doing anything to the image..I can look at it, its fine.open in PS its wrong..hit save and open its fine.
its just photoshops displaying it wrong(or right maybe..and everything else is wrong.of that's the case I want Photoshop to stop doing that and show me the same thing)

In my Photoshop, it looks like the Chrome/Picasa in your shots.

Yea what I was saying, trying to figure out why my photoshop is deciding to 'correct' the view of it.
Iit doesn't effect the save file, the save after PS looks just like everywhere. Its only inside photoshop and how it think it should 'show me' what its working with.

That one looks just like my PS one to me. I can tell without opening it. weird, the one you saved looks like mine inside PS..even outside PS.
If I open yours in picasa its exactly like my PS one. (which doesn't match the original I uploaded to me)

Which tells me either your monitor or Windows are not calibrated correctly.

BTW, print screen never captures color profile problems Because it captures correctly in Windows world, which is corrected later.

No, the one I uploaded (with a sRGB profile) is exactly the same as in your original "Picasa" screenshot (and looks the same in now finally color managed Chrome) to your direct PNG.

In Windows Color Management, what is your default profile? What monitor do you have?

Make sure to set "sRGB" in your monitor panel.
In start menu, type "Color" and you will see Color Management. It's there in Windows Vista and up. Take some screenshots in Devices and Advanced tabs.

Add sRGB IEC61966-2.1 and set it as default. Then in Advanced, set sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as your device profile and leave the rest to System Default.
