have not heard much about this only thing was there were diffrent versions or two diffrent games made? i remeber shacknews had a demo a ways back and after the news was posted he had a update that the demo was for the value version and not the so and so version.
anyways, i am just wondering is this the better version? or is that just on the consoles. I Grabbed the xbox one this morning but have not put it on my box yet to play. I rather play it on my comp if it is the same. Thanks for info

The screenshots from the console version doesn't look very kiddie like, and it can only be better than the first one. No screenies from the pc version yet though, so that might be the kiddie version. Sounds wierd releasing two different versions of the same game though doesn't it?

I only have heard about the console versions which are supposedly AWESOME. The only thing I have read about the PC version is that they made it MUCH more kiddie......

Quote:
We here at the PC channel had been laboring under a misconception that we would be treated to a ported version of the Spider-Man 2 game due out for the consoles very soon. Turns out that isn't the case. Some might be aware that a demo of the PC version was leaked onto the Internet earlier today so of course we took a look at it and were a bit confused. After a bit of checking, we've learned that Spider-Man 2 for the PC will actually be a stand-alone product skewed towards kids and will not be the same as the ultra-cool looking console versions, which is why I now have a box of tissues at my desk and am weeping like a little girl.

Yes, it sucks, PC gamers will again get jacked out of receiving the adult version of a game for a smaller, easier, and more kid friendly version. Damn. After contacting Activision, they informed me they were in the midst of getting the demo pulled down off of the various downloads sites obviously to avoid some confusion as they haven't really talked about this version of the game yet.

From what we saw of the demo, combat was fairly simple, but the web-slinger still had the ability to swing around the city, climb walls, use his spidey-sense and so on. The look of the game was also a bit brighter and cartoony than what we've seen of the console versions. The stories will be similar as will some of the villains, and yes, the PC version will be rated E whereas the console version will be rated T.

If you're an adult and were looking forward to the game as we were, you had better hope that you have a console for the experience. If you're a kid, then you'll be seeing the game on June 28th.

wtf Sad Glad I am getting it for Xbox....

i played the demo, wasnt overjoyed with it. i prefer free movement not shootin target which limits ur movement somewhat. the demo was a lil buggy too. it was alright though ill grab it but thats abt it. tnx goes out to reloaded though they've rebuilt the scene prtty damn well. they're the next FLT Very Happy.

yep sucks. but can anyone say if the kiddy version is at least somewhat good? most probably don't want to try it because it'll tarnish their experience of the whole spiderman 2 thing. best to just rent for consoles I guess.

Today, Activision reps confirmed that the PC Spider-Man 2 will be completely different from its console cousins. "The PC version of Spider-Man 2 is rated 'E' and targeted towards kids eight years of age and older, and it is not a port of the console versions," read an e-mail from the publisher that was circulated to the press.

According to Activision, the PC Spider-Man 2 game will have "an exciting storyline exclusive to Spider-Man 2 PC" and will feature classic Spidey nemeses, like Doctor Octopus and Puma. Players will go through 18 missions and nine distinct environments using "highly realistic webswinging abilities" to travel between streets and rooftops, which represents "a first in a Spider-Man-based PC title." The game will employ a "simplified point-and-click control scheme" and will only require a PC with a 600MHz processor speed and 128MB of RAM. Activision said more details on the PC Spider-Man 2 are forthcoming.

i guess i just stick with the xbox version then. that sucks, i would think more kids have consoles then a pc, for games anyway

Just like in the first Spider-Man movie game there were villians in the game that are not in the movie.

So do you have freedom in choices like in GTA and randomize missions and non-linear plot? can you go everywhere in the city? can you swing webs not only on specific points? oh and does the fighting engine good and involve more than just 2 buttons? cause this is pretty much what is on the console version and if the pc version doesnt good as the console part so I guess its not the same game =\ bahhh I just hate activison for ruining us,the pc gamers a geat game!

the pc IS the kid version. read every damn statement by the company stating so. PC version will have different missions and different way of exploring the city (more limited).

no blood. no traffic or pedestrians? different gameplay completely, different graphics engine, limited city exploring...yea thats a big enough difference for me not to wanna play it.

btw its not a port, its a completely different game they said...with a "simplified point-and-click control scheme" ???? wtf is that....they can go shove it up their fookin arse.

I just hope if it is that bad Game Reviewers should raise total hell. It's bad enough we get poorly ported console but to water down a highly anticipated game like this is just wrong. I have not seen it yet but hell sure does sound like it came out of Activision Value!!

ok, i played the demo and it was shit. i hope it's nothing like it. but i doubt it though. i grabbed the xbox version yesterday, and started playing it today and it is way different than the pc version(demo). the graphics look better on xbox, the fighting moves are different on xbox, i havent seen any blood in the game yet, the web swinging is different(you know how in the demo there is the "web-swing-points," but in the xbox version, it doesnt have that gay shit), and you can definitely tell there's a big difference between them. the xbox version is just way better. the people who work at Activision who decided to make a different spidey2 game for pc should be fired. how in the world could they make such a stupid decision??? making a different spidey game for pc??? idiots!!!

WARNING! do not get if u disliked the demo. it is EXACTLY the same but it has a score ranking. there are some new things such as items to collect. but not much more. i played this for 30mins and found it very repetative. sometimes the graphics looked like but in other places they were just horrible. sound is terrible and the style the movies are tryin to pull off just doesnt work. this game would be good for a 7 year old but im not 7 so 2/10

2/10? A little harsh there? The game isn't THAT bad. It's a decent game to play when I'm bored. Kill some time while waiting for the the good xbox version to come out.
