I thought the topic was more along the lines of the same thing I was thinking reading it...
a question of "what is the Stanley Cup"

Its a little late, but I agree Nouse
HOPEFULLY Brian Burke will turn the Leafs into Champions next season.
We need a championship of some kind in Toronto dude. Aside from the damned Grey Cup (argo's win every few years).
Last championship we had besides the Grey Cup was the back to back World Series wins in the early 90's...
Fucking Gretzky stopped us from getting to Lord Stanley's Cup in 93....we havent even been to the Semi's since....the Leafs make me sad

Im from Toronto man...a die hard Leaf fan, ofc i watch hockey.
Dunno bout the rest of the ppl here, but the swedes should be cause as u know, Canada and Sweden are good friends hockey wise (we are better but the swedes are good and have tons of class and sportsmanship) so the swedes on here may watch.
Unlike the Russians...big rivalry going back to the Summit Series between Canada and Russia in terms of hockey (otherwise, I like russians, but when it comes to hockey, they are the enemy....we begin the hunt for them in October hehe )

Quote: | The NHL's Board of Governors on Monday approved a radical realignment plan, eliminating the current two-conference, six-division setup in favor of a configuration that features four conferences based primarily on geography. Two conferences will have eight teams and the other two conferences will have seven teams. |
Quote: | The makeup of the yet-to-be-named four conferences is as follows:
* New Jersey, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Washington and Carolina
* Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Buffalo, Florida and Tampa Bay
* Detroit, Columbus, Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago, Minnesota, Dallas and Winnipeg
* Los Angeles, Anaheim, Phoenix, San Jose, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Colorado |
I'm guessing that we're going to see 2 new teams very soon with this happening.

Anyone following the playoffs?
Flyers - Pens series has been crazy, especially the last game. Both with goals and penalty minutes. Seeing the Flyers take the cup would be awesome.
