What build of chrome are ya using and what plugins?
I'm personally using SRware Iron version of Chrome.
Quote: | The following Google Chrome features are removed or disabled on Iron:[6][7]
RLZ identifier, an encoded string sent together with all queries to Google[8] or once every 24 hours.
Google search access on startup for users with Google as default search[8][9]
A unique ID ("clientID") for identifying the user in logs.
A timestamp of when the browser was installed.
Google-hosted error pages when a server is not present
Google Updater automatic installation.
DNS pre-fetching, because it could perhaps be used by spammers.[10]
Automatic address bar search suggestions.
Bug tracking system, sends information about crashes or errors. |

Using:
Adblock Plus
Better Pop Up Blocker

although currently I don't even have adblock since all chrome settings and plugins decided to disappear after I had to forcibly restart my PC yesterday.

you don't need flashblock as an extension.. it's integrated in chrome these days
just switch on 'click to play' at about:flags and then set plugins to 'click to play' in settings

What is tineye for exactly?
Only use I've ever heard of it is 4chan losers trying to look up whether a girl's photo has been posted before or not to see if they're being trolled by 40 year old fat virgin basement dweller.
Why would you guys need it?

One example: Someone posts an image in the image thread and claims it's his, but he actually just downloaded it somewhere off the net.

The problem with Iron is that it is very outdated when compared to Chrome 13. What Chromium are they on still? 9? 10?
Anyway,
AdBlock
Better Pop Up Blocker
LastPass
NFOHump Modification Extension
Personal Blocklist
SmoothScroll
TinEye Reverse Image Search
Ultimate Chrome Flag
View Image Info (properties)
Also, don't forget to about:flags and enable some interesting features.

I use it to find, when someone posts desktop picture, said desktop picture...
@ Leo: It says 11.0.700.2 (83001) version, but it works just fine...

Hey leo I'm giving chrome a try and installed your plugins. Some of them require quite some access.. Are they fully safe to use? O_O

Well which ones look suspicious to you haha? Obviously for extensions like AdBlock, Better Popup and Chrome Flat to work, they need access to what you use.
Do you have doubts that similar extensions/add-ons for other browsers require less "access"?

Well as I had most of the functionality those add ons offer directly built into opera, I did not think about it much as I trust opera. But with those amount of add ons and all different developers it definitely rises question marks. Shouldn't it?

Could be. But all Chrome extensions are JS after all, so you can look at the code to make sure. I don't think with such extensions with tens of thousands of users it is really a problem.

So is there any extension that downloads all linked images on a page?
Basically doing a regex on <a href="*.jpg/gif/png"> and downloading it all?

Can you "download" (write files to the local file system) with javascript?
