I've recently begun watching the episodes from the beginning. I've read Ispep saying the episodes are becoming too formulaic. I'm not sure I see that happening for me. I'm a fan of Stargate Atlantis, which I've heard has become formulaic, but I don't find that at all. Anyone else have some thoughts?

I think Atlantis is rather predictable, yes.
Battlestar Galactica is evening out, after being quite intense in the early 2:nd Season.
I don't know if I can pick a favourite ongoing Sci-Fi-series. It probably would be SG-1, due to the fact that Ben Browder is in it.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

I feel I've lost the passion for watching it to be honest. It might be that I've been spoilt on such television series such as Lost and perhaps tempted by others such as Invasion. But I think it's mostly down to the formulaic structure of each episode and character.
In the first series the President was a fleshed out character for example, whilst in the second series she's morphed into some kind of prophet berefit of any of the depth she originally had (and don't forget we always had the inkling that she was going to play this role in the first series - so it shouldn't have come as a shock - but the way the character becomes so one dimensonal is cringeworthy at best).
And seriously I frecking hate the religious string that runs throughout it all, not to mention all of the pathetic 'swearing'. I'm still watching it but I'm a little disappointed they haven't tried to take it further or develop the characters better.

For me the 3 hour pilot and the first season of Battlestar were brilliant sci-fi. In places the second season has been good i.e.
Spoiler: | Starbuck in the cylon "hospital", Starbuck and Helo hooking up with the resistance fighters, the documentary episode, the stealth fighter named after the president and the current episodes with "The Pegasus" |
but compare that to the first season and it all seems a little bland.
I can remember watching the first season and there was real tension as they were playing heavily on the fact that anyone of the crew could be a cylon, you were on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who were the other cylon infiltrators. With the exception of one small incident during the documentary episode they seem to have ditched the whole cylon infiltrator thing which in my opinion was one of the shows strengths.
To be honest I found the 2nd seasons of Carnivale and Deadwood (2 of my favourite programmes) to be just OK as well, I guess thats the price some shows pay for setting such high standards in their first seasons.

I also agree that some episodes can be bland, more so after the great start to the series. But the last episode (The Pegasus) was great & had me on the edge of my seat.
The thing with Battlestar Galactica is that it has huge potential. Sometimes they find gold, sometimes it's only mud, but when they strike gold nothing else comes close.

It's SO true. I just finished marathonning to the end of season two. Pegasus was... just outstanding. One of the darkest episodes, dripping of tension and attention grabbing moments. I'm ready to die having to wait til January!

"TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS"
Isn't the proper form of leaf in plural: "Leaves"?

Yeah...stupid eh?
But who cares, cuz THE LEAFS ARE BY FAR THE BEST TEAM IN HOCKEY...
and I hope no one says..."well, ya know the habs (canadiens) won the most stanely cups..." cuz really, fuck montreal and the habs...Im true blue all the way, the leafs are my team till the end
And we have some of the best talent on the leafs, from around the world...our captain is from Sweden for example (Matts Sundin)...awesome hockey player and im proud to call him a torontonian
...as u can see, we canadians take hockey very seriously...just like englishmen take football (soccer) seriously.
Lol try walking around downtown toronto when the leafs are playing the habs at the ACC and wearing a Montreal jersey...instant beating

I went to a philly-to game two years ago during the playoffs. Like 2 minutes left in the game and the leafs won 2-1. People nearly rioted outside the ACC. It was fucking incredible.
Yes, pegasus was the season closer.
Also, Toronto Maple Leafs is the proper grammatical form. Each player is a Toronto Maple Leaf, and the team is a plural of those individuals. It's complicated, but it is right.

Guess my bigger issue is that the fighter isnt really special. Oh sure, its got the "stealth" thing but I want something that make me go WOW. Say a bigger gun or something that would say "hey cylons, we got this and its gonna hurt like hell on yo ass".
Vote Pro-Gun.

I personally like the way it was done. The integration of cylon technology would be next to impossible, especially considering how realisitic this show is trying to be. The technology would just be incompatible, and the cylons would be able to sense it no problem. The speed of it was done over a matter of days I suppose, and could've been slowed, but at the same time, when chief was talking about thats all he has left, and how it's become a hobby for everyone, I have a feeling the thing realisitically could have been built faster..
But enough of my justification. I cannot wait until January, I'm going crazy.

Just got into the show. Took me a damn long while. Mostly cause it took me 3 nights to download each season in HD and I thought it'd be all bleh based on some of the comments here by resident loons. \o/ Watching back to back. Solid show. Some issues here and there with acting and the script. But it's well done and some lines Olmos says... DAAAAMN!

I wish. The wrong people were recommending this series . Starderp Derpverse had Robert Carlyle. Though... I do now see where people went all DERPVERSE IS COPYING DERPATTICA! Derpverse seems to have had a better budget though. But Derpattica has a better background \o/

The first season is awesome, but after that the pretentious bullcrappery and the "oh we are so fucking intellectual" gay philosophery begins.
