Had a work party on saturday. Got a group together and had a pre party. Shots of Vodka were had. Stumbling down a flight of stairs also ensued. Made a complete fool out of myself at the main party. Also ended up fighting with one of the guys there. Forgot where i lived and was driven to my hold home where i thought i lived, put down my phone at the stairs and left.
Met a friend who was driving around with her girlfriends downtown who picked me up and drove me home. This part i vaguely remember. I knew their faces, but i did not know their names. Yikes!

What a fucking spectacle. Day after felt like Hangover 4

What does this teach us? Alcohol in moderation kids!

It's not that difficult. Very Happy

I drink alcohol something like three times a week and I've last been drunk 10+ years ago. Usually just take 1-2 portions, or "standard drinks" depending where you're from.

Being drunk just makes me quiet and sleepy.

I wasnt just drunk. I was blacked out most of the evening. I do not remember anything from the main party.

Got more info. Grabbed a colleagues boobs from behind and said "yoink yoink" like what the fuck. Were rude to some people who tried to shut down my drinking and get me to go home.

Talked to my boss though and she just laughed and told me to leave the booze next time Laughing

yeah i've had so many blackouts like this, no idea what i did, who i talked with, what i said. it's just an empty void and a headache + usually depression (either really terrible or just lingering) for a week or more. fun times Rolling Eyes

haven't been that drunk for at least 14'ish years now though Smile i only drink wine, maybe 3 times a year and like one glass.

Next time use a bodycam.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Well for sure, but in my case it's more like guilt over whom i might have hurt. I know i have, but i don't know who. I'm really not this type of person at all. Always been somewhat of a people pleaser in real life.

But imagine waking up the day after. Wounds here and there, black and blue in various places, teeth hurt due to fighting. I didn't know that. I just thought maybe i'd fallen or made a fool out of myself like that. The truth was waaay worse Laughing

yeah that's no fun. same here, i'm a really calm person, i hate when i get to hear i've been aggressive, it's not me, well, it's a fucked up version of me that i don't like or want to be associated with. I've probably said it before but it's my least favorite drug of all, and i've done them all apart from crack, heroine and similar super hardcore shit drugs.

Yeah, it's not really who we are. We have all seen these super friendly good people turn into absolute dipshits when they're drunk. We know them well enough to know this is not them. Although i do believe some facets of your drunkenness is the real you.

I had it worse decades ago in student years. As long as in the aftermath you didn't discover that you had done something irreversible in your amnesiac state, it would be a nice funny story to tell to (grand)kids. Smile

@Stormwolf At least you're alive with no major events or regrets beyond innocent dumb decisions and embarrassment

One of the reasons I don't do shots myself. Seen too many other people forget that small drinks can have a huge punch and keep downing them until it hits them all at once. And at that point too drunk to realize they should stop.

Sounds a bit like I was 14. Grabbing a woman by her pussy, barfing in some bin.
This was s school fest. She was pretty.
Others told me later: "Even when you're drunk you have s good taste for women."

Edit: I should not have done that. Embarassed

I am so glad I work from home, and our offices are in New Jersey and Israel.

I never had to endure an office party, shit I never have personally met 1/2 the people I work with.
And the ones I did met was in a passing sort, of back when we traveled and we just both happen to be sent to the same site. "Hey you work at Proimage? Me too!" and maybe a lunch together and never see them again.

And never have in person met my main boss, or even my direct boss.
I dont even know what my main boss looks after 17 years like despite talking to them 5 days a week on report meetings.

And I want it to stay that way, me being anti-social and also not liking 1/2 the people I work with (I get along with them for work, but never would want to hang out with them)....god I pray we never have a meet and greet. That would be hell for me.

Don't you have Teams (or similar) meetings with webcam on? I have around 15 Teams meets a week, and I know how everyone in our company look like (the ones i never physically met also).

Edit: how everyone in the office side look like, each country

Office parties and such are great fun.. as long as you dont get wasted. You mingle, flirt with women, connect more with male friends, eat good food.

We use teams but never use the cameras. I dont even own a webcam. I just see ether everyone's avatar pic, or just letters like 'MM' in a colored circle for Mike Monter (my boss) and whoever is talking has a green border around their circle.
Even when we had skype before teams yeeaars ago, no one used the cameras.

That's interesting. I mean nobody is forcing us to use webcams either, but pretty much everyone does. It gives more "we're in the meeting room" aura. But i guess if you're very anti-social it can be uncomfortable.

I am by any means not an extrovert, but still enjoy talking and meeting with people

Let's assume that your goal is to get fired. At the yearly business party:

Pinch the tits of the wife of your boss.
Steal a bottle of Vodka and drug the cocktail.
Having a dance with someone elses wife, and grabbing her ass.
Drink some more...
Piss on the dance floor.

Not necessarily in that order.

I hope you realise I am joking.

Only the drug in the coctail would be grounds for being fired in Norway. While companies can try, it is veeery hard if you bring them to court. But at that point you probably don't want to work there anymore either.

@Stormwolf and @Iwasfaggotonce I've never done this bad, but at a school party age 15, I unscrewed light bulbs and smashed them, did puke in litter boxes.

Edit: Not something to be proud off

Like sitting in a train and talking to the conductor for minutes about a valid ticket for the passage.
Then you remember you have a student's public transportation card, and you show it.
The conductor angrily asks: "Why didn't you show that before?"
You answer: "I was drunk."

Or for a short amount of time getting you senses back, and find yourself on the 4th floor of a parking lot.

Wandering around Rotterdam, looking for my home.
Walking past two men and a woman, the woman is frightened and calls me.
I walk back. The woman I know, she is a junkie, well known in the Rotterdam addictive scene.
The two men are probably dealers.
With my hands palms up, I ask: "What is the problem?"
One of them hits my face, and ruptured the skin.
I screamed: "kankergedrocht". And then I smashed his nose, he collapsed.

Edit: Back in the days I was tough.
