if you buy gear with proper fans you should not be hearing pretty much anything.
The loudest thing on my rig are the 120mm case fans. gpu, and cpu fans are both inaudiable.
you know how far pc tech has come when the loudest thing in a case is museum specimen hard drives chirping.
can't wait till I rid myself of HDD's even as yarr game storage drives.

For me it would be a rattling worn 120mm fan... about 5 years old and came with the case. Getting replaced at christmas with a Noctua.

Aye, I thought the prices here in Sweden were also quite high to what I was used of (and somehow hard to find).
You could get a small compressor for the price of a game/3 overpriced compressed air cans.

Drowning_witch wrote: | yeah, those cans of air cost suprisingly too much over here as well. No way am I paying 15 euro for a can of air. I personally clean my fans with a tootbrush and a vacuum.
I have a friend that picks up his case, and drives to a gas station and uses the free air compressor's there to clean the dust |
If its close by that would do xD
I use vacuumer + toothbrush (they are free since my fiancee is a dental hygienist ) for the monthly/3 monthly clean up, but I always need to blow it out after 6 months or it doesn't feel right.
Getting a compressor soon since... it takes too much time and effort with 3 cases + also would be nice to pump the tires of our bikes with it.

Right now pretty much the only noise is this kind of strange humming or delicate vibrating from hdd I lack better word for that, before I bought this new hard drive I had old WD 500GB hdd and it was doing something similiar so I wrapped it with kind of foam and put it on my dvd drive inside the case that eliminated the sound but now its back with new Seagate 1TB so I guess it must be some kind of case flaw ? But how come is it present even with those rubber things zalman is providing to "elminate vibrations" anyone still using "old" hdd technology with similar problem ?
Anyway noises like this become more of a nuisance when your card is passive for most the time, my BeQuiet psu is also very silent, cpu fan is spinning at load with 1200rpm max so also silent and apart from that I have two silent 120mm fans that dont go faster than 900rpm.

better save up for an OS/game dedicated SSD. until then, you won't know how powerful your rig really is.

nice rig, but overpriced sadly. ddr4 and skylake dont give a noticable performance boost over old gen compared to the price

correct me if im wrong but apart grom faster loading there is no benefit from ssd in games? I know of other pros ssd but at least in games it doesnt really mather.
Janz why overpriced? 6600 has the same performance as 6600k of course without OC but is at least 70 euro cheaper than k version.
6600 costed me 235 euro, mobo 100 euro, ram 50 euro. At that price I cant do overclocking but apart from that my cpu has noticeably better performance than k versions of Ivy Bridge and Hasswels without OC. 6600 beats Ivy oced to 4.5 and in around 50% of tests it is faster thansome Hasswels oced to 4.5.

On a serious note, if the game relies heavily on streaming content, that will be loaded faster during your gameplay and will reduce shitty looking assets/stuttering. (which is basically just faster loading during gametime)

Not only that, but like 90% of everything you do in Windows has a significant boost compared to a HDD, even HDD's in raid.. Especially after some time (because HDD's in raid can be quite fast at first)..

the 6600 delivers not the same performance as the 6600k cause its clocked lower, but that wasnt my point. as you dont plan to oc an "old" haswell refresh system with a 70 euros mobo + 250 euro xeon with mod bios for maximum boost on all cores would deliver better performance for the price (and ddr4 isnt worth it atm and ddr3 is cheaper).
im not saying your choice was bad, just saying i would have build the rig different

ragnarus wrote: | You are right I somehow forgot during gameplay traditional hard drive can cause some kind of "stuttering" when stuff is loading from drive. I would gladly switch to ssd but it would have to be at least 1tb one... I was considering buying 128gb which is more or less cost of 1tb hdd and keep my old 500gb hard drive but then I would be low on space since for some time I was deleting more and more stuff because I was low on space. So i decided to buy hdd now and keep more stuff on it and hopefully in not so distant future buy 250gb or even bigger ssd if something happens and their prices drop significantly. |
Why though? It's just good for OS and a couple of games. Setup something you can use to easy copy/paste active/inactive games from and to SSD/HDD and all is good.
No need to save up for expensive big SSD if you're short on money

128gb ssds are useless now since the 256gb ones are most of the time only 10-15 euros more expensive. and 256gb is enough for os,all applications and 2-3 games you use regularly and which profit from the ssd

Great setup. The only issue is the non-K version but as you describe the problem you didn't really have much of a choice.
Using a fast 250GB SSD is a good idea for installing games and other intensive apps. They're not particularly expensive either. You could even look for a second hand 250GB Samsung 840 EVO (or 850 EVO) to keep it cheap while still getting amazing performance.
