One of the few games in Summer Derp Fest that looks sort of interesting.

Lemme guess, another Lovecraftian game?

Still Wakes The Deep...Ones. Laughing

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

I didn’t realise this was a TCR game.
So they’re working on this as well as Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2?

May the NFOrce be with you always.

Sure the setting looks awesome, but is this a super expensive walking sim where it could be a movie?

If only they learned something from Frictional Games...

But I assume they didn't, so we'll have:

• lousy / almost zero world interaction
• 50 FOV with NO! FOV slider
• woke-sprinkled for brownie points
• agenda-fit characters
• performance that's gone to the rapture
story?

But... why so negative, you say?!

Their works so far (except Dear Esther, made 3000 years ago) were all almost shite for one reason or another:

Amnesia - A Machine for Pigs - VERY disappointing, WEAKEST Amnesia game!
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture - TERRIBLE PERFORMANCE on PC + 6.5 Metacritic PC users
Little Orpheus - Average stuff (MIXED on Steam reviews)

But...

/sigh

I hope I'm wrong.

This is proof that a UE5 game can be stutter-free.

There is proof that UE4 can also be stutter free (Days Gone, Aliens Dark Descend, Deep Rock Galactic, Psychonauts 2, The Outer Worlds etc.).

Hence, proof that some developers still need to learn how to properly code UE.

Not quite enough game here IMO. It's too linear and it could use an inventory and some resources to collect and use, at least.

Is it comparable to a movie? Starting to rethink these walking sims as just movies.

Kinda, yeah.

There's no inventory, no objectives log, no notes, no journal, no environment interaction except for the purpose to move forward - open door, engage contraption, read some stuff that doesn't log, use carefully placed object to distract.

It's not bad, but I personally prefer the Frictional Games approach. SOMA still remains the king (he/his) of all.

I really wanted to like Soma but i couldn't stand the protagonist's constant talking. Like I get it i dont need the main character going "HOLY SHIT THAT WAS FUCKED UP" let me do that for myself.

He's an unremarkable character in an extraordinary situation. (He's just a regular guy and ultimately, imo, it's okay to be like this.)

But the whole concept of the game / the game as a whole, is just great.
