I've long since stopped caring about the "advertisement vs reality" circlejerking (it's pointless, in any industry, as I said a few pages back) and let me tell you, I'm enjoying games much more this w ...

I generally agree with you.

However, I just want to point out that lying in advertisements has been the standard since advertisements were invented. I'm not saying it should be ignored or condoned, ...

As I suspected, it seems (from reviews at least) that it suffers from the same problem all "triple A" games suffer lately: quantity over quality.

Yeah, I think the Switch will be emulated relatively quickly. It's far less "custom" than the Wii/WiiU

Only thing: it needs to be hacked first. Which usually doesn't take much time on Nintendo cons ...

I'll be happy if the exploration is limited.

There are dozens (if not hundreds) of "rpgs" where the main focus of the game is to just wander about farming crafting pieces and other useless tat. But ...

It's highly subjective.
What "happened", in my case, was open world fever.
Every game now has to be open world, by law. Every existing franchise too. No one will be spared.

And as a consequenc ...

Of course we know very little at this time, but if they did the open world, characters and quests like DAI, then we are truly fucked.

I can't find any other explanation for that amount of data being needed for what will essentially be, as usual, a 4-hour game.

Especially in a BSD-based SO like the PS4 one, which is designed with security as a primary concern.
