Maybe they didn't want to leave them static for people whose cards can't do PhysX, so they left them static for everybody.
Personally, I prefer that the items be there even if I can't pick them up. ... |

btw, you don't have to click on all programs to make them all show up.. you can just hover over it until it auto expands...
XP had the same behavior.. it never showed you everything automatically. |
