No patch - same problem as you.
Hmmm, wonder what else it could be. What kind of video card do you have? I have a Radeon 9800 Pro. My driver isn't up to date so maybe I'll try that first. |

I just opened the game and clocked a loadtime.
It was from the first checkpoint (when you actually get to control your character) from that level where you first get to command a tank.

Loading on the pc version is pretty fast (1gb ram here). Not as fast as republic commando, but fast enough so it doesn't botter me.
