If you launch Steam in offline mode on a seperate computer , I think you can run the dedi.
Then run legit duke via online steam from another pc and connect ...

Game works fine on x64. It not only works well but the beta downloads 64bit binaries and runs sweet on my 8800gtx sli setup. Running in dx10 SLI mode at 1680x1050. 70- 90fps.
