I grabbed the Skid Row update, and was able to finish the game. It still crashed from time to time during the "scene transitions", but I could just restart it to continue.

| That allowed me to play until I get to Dead City Center, when I try to enter the doors, it crashes. EVERY TIME. :-\ |

As the subject says, double click the icon, it loads, turns the screen black, and then crashes EVERY TIME.
AMD Quad core, XP, ATI 5970 Video card (1GB), and 3.3GB of RAM.
