Not entirely sure how multiplayer is still working, is it two players on the same island?
That's what I gathered from the above trailer.
I was really hoping for, at least in co-op mode, that we'd each be given our own island and be allowed to trade resources/experts via ship and be able to "visit" our friends island in an observer capacity. Two players on the same island is bound to run into space issues. Looks like they kinda half-assed it.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

That is sort of how I envisioned it, kinda like SimCity 5 but not shit. There's be two mapmodes that you could cycle between, local and world, the latter in which you could designate troop movements and such, send resources, perhaps even airdrop lots of flyers in an attempt to sow dissent among your f(r)iend's citizens. But they indeed seem to have gone about it in a pretty half-assed way. I'm hoping that there will be much larger maps...
So just a recap on the video above (and Silent_Lurker, please correct me if I'm wrong seeing as how you've played the beta) -
-Massively simplified customization options (both visually, and in terms of passive "perks"). Yes, you can have 6 presidentes now instead of just one due to the dynasty feature, but the perks list looked extremely meager compared to Tropico 4. There were less than half a dozen.
-Massively simplified voter factions. When he pulled up that Almanac it looked like his voters were split into 2 groups - Economic and Church/State. The economics had Capitalist vs. Communist and the Church/State had Militarists vs. Religious. So 4 voter factions vying for affection rather than the dozen or so Tropico 4 had.
I'm not going to lie - I pre-ordered this a while back on GMG for $27 - and it still looks pretty damn good, it's just a shame they've cut so much complexity out of it.

But as TB said in video, are they going to introduce what has been cut via DLC in the future? Going by their track record, this is highly possible.
Tropico 4 was really just Tropico 3, with a few tweaks here and there, until Modern Times came along.
