i dunno about the shield but he definitely carried a sword, killed a shitload of people with his ragtag group of bandits and raped many women.
but then again, pretty much any of the old testaments main characters did this.

He was stopped by god before he managed to get it done, did it with a sheep instead in his glory or some such.
(We had a compact cartoon version of the bible at the school library - action bible or some such it was called.)
(Of course there was also books not at all intended for school kids as well, Murder Condom 2 or what it would be called in English, Jango - by the same author - and stuff like Ed the Happy Clown amongst real novels and such, I preferred the comics though, the Aasgard series or what it was called was awesome.)
