I swear, I will move to another country just so my relatives would stop calling three times a week for something they need help with.
Your gmail account got locked? Your printer stopped working? You need windows reinstalled? Need to fill car with luggage before heading on to holiday? Need someone to come over to the house every day to water the plants? Need someone to take you from work to carry the extra baggage home? Forgot your keys/locked yourself out?
I fucking dream of a single month, that nobody needs me for anything!!
Apparently I didn't move out of my parent's home five years ago, so I can become independent, but so I can become their errand boy. How the fuck can I go do everything myself, but other people can't.
And what really gets me is that they even make plans ahead of time deliberately with mind that I will help, and when I can't they get angry with me!!

Say NO. You have to say no every once in a while anyway so people appreciate you!

Just what I was about to say.
Just say no. And if they start to bitch, just hang up on them Don't go into discussions

im on my phone. dont mind the typos.
you are actually doing people a diservice by helping them sometime.. they never learn how to do things on their own or get out of there own problems. they bite off more than they can chew and expect others to tow the weight.
I'll do things for other people if they're not using me. I'll help other people help themselves. sometimes I really have to look at my motives for helping people. sometimes it's because I feel that I owed them ( which is bullshit, I don't know anybody anythin) or have this gross desire to save the day, it's an ego thing I've come to realize. none of those are good reasons. sometimes I think it's best to point the right direction, and they can do the rest on their own
it's a really hard habit to break. it has a name. Its called codependency and caretakin, and its been learned from bad family dynamics.
