So my geforce 560TI died. I'm kinda broke atm and just want to get something similar, anything good available atm?

I'm not to fussed about being able to run everything at max settings, and these days I usually play world of tanks, secret world and the occasional single player game.

Thx in advance Smile

A 750Ti performs slightly worse than a GTX660, so if you're in the market for a strong entry-level card that has an extremely low wattage, that should be the way to go. But since you had a 560Ti, I assume power is not a problem, for a single card, anyway, so, for the same price as the 750ti, there's the R7 265, but that seems to sell like crazy, there's also the R9 270X or the GTX 760, both of which have no issue running games in Full HD with high to ultra details and an acceptable level of AA. Then there's the GTX 770, which is a rebranded GTX 680 but cheaper and awesome, it should be very future proof. I would also look into the R9 280/280X, although the performance between the two SHOULD not be any different under real life conditions. I hope to have helped.

EDIT: Changed the R7 260 to the 265.

In the same price range, the R7 265 is supposed to be the best bang for the buck (same price as 750Ti, but performs faster).
Actually finding that card on sale is the tricky part, however Smile

R7 265 is a price/performance sweet-spot product.

Try to get a cheap 670 if you can. Absolute beast of a card. I am not sure why people are calling the 750 ti best bang for the buck, it's merely flaunting the power efficiency of Nvidia's next line...

A Radeon R9 270X is also a decent buy with mantle support.

fuck mantle shit. 270x is just a 7870, which is ok card still. especially for the price. But not sure how long will it be enough... for all I know nvidia equivalents are just more expensive and I am yet to find a reason to go with nvidia in recent years

Well again thx for all the nice info. I decided to bite the bullet and get an MSI 760 OC 2GB. More expensive than what I felt like spending atm. But I guess I can pull through (Spaghetti & ketchup FTW Very Happy

So, stealing this thread for my own use now Razz

My 7970 blew up (smoke, sizzle the whole thing), and I managed to persuade the insurance company that the dog did it.

Sooo I'm trying to now decide between a GTX 780 4Gb or a R9 280X 3Gb (the 290 is just a bit out of my current price range)

On paper they are pretty similar. I have an AMD 8320 CPU as stated in my sig - would an AMD still compliment this or is Nvidia the way forward? I am struggling to decide what's the best thing here...

Umm... Between those two the GTX 780 is the faster one... and it also costs more (by around 150€ around here). In fact, it should cost as much as the 290 (or more if you compare it with a reference 290).
So your entire third sentence is very confusing to me Very Happy

EDIT: Oh, and just so you know the 280X is that same 7970 + Boost. It's not really a new GPU.

Oh yeah I might have made a slight typo Laughing I meant a GTX 770 of course.
And yeah I am aware it's a 7970, although it does have the useful ability to hook up a third DVI for Eyefinity rather than relying on DP instead.

Edit: REALLY tempted by this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Palit-Jetstream-Graphics-Architecture-Surround/dp/B00DB4J7LU/

I suppose I should have guessed Very Happy
The 770 and 280X are indeed very similar. In terms of performance, I don't think you can go wrong with either.
On Nvidia's side you have ShadowPlay to consider, if you are interested in something like that. Also lower power consumption.

I suggest you check out the reviews for the custom cooled solutions and see what works best.

I'd go for AMD, especially for the current time, Mantle seems to be slightly picking up and there's going to be some time until low level implementations are done for OpenGL/D3D.

At this point i would not suggest buying 2GB GTX 770, you can get 4GB model from 770, but its not really worth it. 280X a.k.a 7970 would be good choice (3GB VRAM).
