Heh, haven't seen any of the best actor/actress movies, and only Inception and Toy Story 3 from Best Movie. Probably should remedy that before the awards.

the social network is great, black swan... people who love artsy fartsy movies love that movie... 127 hours is out on the web. i never heard of winters bone though. Which is a shocker. it could win since it's so low profile.

Edit
Winters bone is also out in 1080.

David Fincher and Nicholas Winding Refn as i expected weren't even considered, oscars are biased as usual.
How pathetic, some good movies are missing

Melancholia
Senna
Shame
Cave of Forgotten Dreams
Drive, best adaptation and soundtrack, alas, Daft Punk got the same treatment last year
Jane Eyre should also get a cinematography nomination since they used natural lighting
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross didn't get nominated and The Social Network's score is shit compared to this.

But they're going to kiss The Artist's ass until their lips get brown. Sure it's evocative of the period and it's skilfully done to replicate that period's type of filmmaking but come on, there are better films than that.

Out of the best actress cateogry i'd choose Roney Mara but of fucking course she won't win shit.

And when did F&F made it into oscars?

Fucking disgrace nominations. I'd vote for Drive in everything but since it's only in music I'll go for Inception.

And Jonah Hill for a supporting role? Are You Serious

Comment above notwithstanding, have you actually seen Moneyball? His performance was very good.

Oscars mean less and less for every gala.

What is it with all the shit actors and shit movies? Inception? Really? What's next, family home videos with the kids in the pool?

There should be a gala for TV-series only instead, because movies are becoming so passé, I'd rather watch one episode of The Wire than any of these so-called "movies". Perhaps with the exception of "The King's speech".

Am I the only one here to have watched The Tree of Life?

Well, The Lord of the Rings did won 17 Oscars during it's run, so I wouldn't say they are complete invalid, a high percentage of it is, but there is still some hidden real artistic appreciation.
