Yeah, I'm back. Found a job back in January, a paid internship paired with some UX(user experience) courses in web design (no front end stuff), but, the firm I work for has no active projects so they can't really hire me full time, even though they really want to. I'm pretty much tired of staying home, browsing all day and waiting until 17:00-18:00 comes along and I'm no longer alone. I am absolutely tired of this shitty routine, wake up, drink coffee, do nothing, try and find the motivation to exercise but I can't even do that since I stand up, let out a big sigh and resume slouching around. I was happier when I was "unemployed" since I was job hunting all day. Ubisoft called, they wanted to hire me full time, for them, not an external contractor, even turned that down, I am absolutely disgusted by what's happening with their projects lately and I am not interested in working in that kind of environment. On the bright side, there's 3 months left on my contract so I still have some cash to spend, after those three months are up they better have some projects.

I know UBI is pure evil, we can all agree on that, but why turn down a perfectly 'good' job if you are that run down with the situation now ?

I've come to learn it's not good, lots of hate between units(basically, departments), the HR rules that joint, and if you're the weird guy, and by weird I mean disagree that a console is the ultimate gaming medium (this actually happened while on a lunch break, someone asked me if I have a PS3, I replied with no, I game on PC and peasantry happened, some people (most) take their hobbies very seriously there) that has no one to hang out with during ciggie or lunch breaks you are pretty much fucked since you WILL get stomped upon. Might be that I didn't hang out with the right crowd, there are almost 1k employees there. I worked there for about a year, in total, but I was pretty safe since I was an outside source. Besides, I have pretty much the same amount of cash from this internship as I would with an entry level salary at Ubi. I don't know, I just developed some form of apathy, I can't find enjoyment in anything, that's pretty much what I'm bitching about, I realize I have it much better than some other people, most of my friends which were laid off when the firm we were working for still haven't found a job, and Ubisoft took in like ten, out of ~100.

I share the thought of Saner on this. It would have been better to just role with Ubi until something better came up or this firm could hire you.
Edit: worked in those kind of environments before, not more than a few months tho. Always used the time to search for something better if I noticed that stuff going on (happens in a lot of companies sadly).

Read my edit, please. Besides, I really want to get out of the quality assurance sphere, web design started as a hobby and has been my dream job for a couple of years.
