I'm currently in Amsterdam with some friends and i need a cheap PSU to put in an i5-3570k small pc (no vidcard, 1 SSD, 1 optical drive).
I recommended them the Corsair CX430M, but now TWICE already the damn thing broke down within a few weeks..

So instead of swapping it for another one of those, i will ask them to replace it with another PSU.

And recommendations for a cheap (but good) PSU? Doesn't need to have 600+ watt.

I have corsair 450w gaming series and it's been serving me with no problems for a year now.

I'd recommend Sirtec, other PC has a 500W PSU 80+ from them and it had no problems until now. PC Before that had a Sirtec 450w, it died after five years.

Sirtec HPC-500-G12S Element Bronze is the model in the second PC.

What about a be quiet! System Power 7 350W?

Silent, efficient and cheap enough. That system will never need more W anyway.

I use a be quiet! Straight Power E9 CM 80+Gold myself and built a friends PC with a be quiet! Pure Power 430 Watt / BQT L7 and never had any issues. But then again, I never had any issues with my old Corsair VX450 either. Smile

That's because it's Seasonic Wink

@ saus: make sure to get a 2012+ model from Be Quiet! if you're going for that. Those run on FSP's new platform, which is much, much better than the old one.

Otherwise, there's a fair few Seasonic units around the same price point (S12G, G series) too.

Avoid the new Corsair CS series too, they're very mediocre.

Rosewill 450W/550W Fortress are pretty cheap and they are platinum and very high quality. Not modular tho, comes with 7 years of warranty which is very nice Razz.
