In a small mountain town, many dead people reappear, apparently alive and normal: road accident victim teenager Camille, suicidal bridegroom Simon, a small boy named "Victor" who was murdered by burglars, and Serge, a serial killer. They try to resume their lives as strange phenomena occur; amongst recurring power outages, the water level of the reservoir mysteriously lowers, revealing the presence of dead animals and a church steeple, and strange marks appear on the bodies of the living and the dead.
You have just nicked my sickbeard list haven't you.

Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!

Completed it last night. Amazing show. Great locations, eerie soundtrack, fine pacing and a thrilling storyline. It left so many question unanswered towards the end. They would have to cover up a large ground on explaining those in the second season. That said, this show was very engaging. It started off rather slow, but as they began to explain the characters, their origins and the main plot, it starts to get interesting. There is something about the OST and the location which gives a Hannibal vibe.
Although, some viewers felt the season final was a let down because so many questions were left unanswered as you said.Personally, I didn't have a problem with that and the way it ended seemed to me as a perfect start for something greater.
But..but..it all depends on whether they manage to tie up elegantly every loose end and give a proper explanation to what the f was going on there And if they fail to do that ..well..now THAT would be a real massive let down.

Agreed. I didn't have a problem with the finale either. It was quite intriguing, to be honest. I have to admire the make-up job done on the show as well; it's very authentic. If the second season promises more gore, then I'd be looking forward to it.
The one thing that bothers me though is that almost 2 years have passed since the date the first season was aired. And we have several young actors who are not supposed to grow older because they are "dead".
@Werelds
Yeah, Ive heard that the British, I think, remake is on the way.
PS Ah, I googled it.

Hm..it kinda reassures me that the British remake might be actually a good one.

Forgive me, my math must be weak, but the first episode aired in November 2012, so it's one year right?
Anyone in specific you had in mind? Victor perhaps? I don't think any of these actors would go through a drastic change in their appearance since we last saw them, in one year no less.
Yeah, I meant Victor and the younger sister.Mostly her tbh.
Nah, Camille's appearance won't be a problem. What puzzled me was how Frédéric failed to recognise Camille when she returned. I mean they were practically dating and it's not like he would forget how she looked 4 years ago. That's weird.
I saw several people in the city where I live, who looked like twins but they were not
But..it's in a big city. They live in a distant small town.so yeah..kinda strange. but who knows.. maybe it is easier to believe that she was just Camille's lookalike and she was introduced as a cousin I think. I don't have info on whether cousins might resemble this much the person they are related to, but I suppose it could be, who knows.
I feel it's rather odd because when Camille was introduced to the 'Helping Hand' group by Pierre, they instantly recognised her. Heck, even Lena had a faint memory of knowing Simon, a person with whom she was photographed as a child.
What a great Season 1 for this one! Brilliant cinematography, very good perfomances all around and the OST by Mogwai is amazing.
Do we have anything official about Season 2?
Afaik originally the filming of season 2 was scheduled for March 2014, but later on producers said that there was no date confirmed. So, we will be really lucky if the second season is released in 2014.
It's really a great show, but Camille's shitty teen drama is boring me. I guess shitty teen drama is present in every show on the world.
edit: I finished it, it was a great show. I think the greatness of it will be build upon, or cumble, with the second season. They basically only created mystery, nothing is resolved.
The filming of the new season will take place from 29 September 2014 to 20 March 2015 in the Rhône-Alpes and Ile-de-France.

All of the original cast will return for eight new episodes, with actor Laurent Lucas also joining for series two.
Set six months after the conclusion of the first run, the new episodes will see Adele (Clotilde Hesme) about to give birth to Simon's (Pierre Perrier) child, while Lena (Jenna Thiam) and her father Jerome (Frederic Pierrot) search desperately for Claire (Anne Consigny) and Camille (Yara Pilartz).
Matters are complicated further when a stranger named Berg - who knows more than he claims - arrives into town. Worse still, a new wave of resurrections could be about to occur.
The show will return to Canal+ in late 2015. Channel 4 has confirmed that it will air series two in the UK, but is yet to announce a launch date
I've been watching this since last week, 5 episodes done. The girl from the poster in the OP just...
Spoiler:
..woke up at the hospital. She's supposed to be a medium, I guess she's gonna contribute some interesting stuff to the story now
It's a very good show. So freaking intriguing and many great characters, both living and returned. Glad to know that no matter what happens in the season finale, the new season comes out this year.
P.S: I'm not using subs and I'm glad to realize my french hasn't got too rusty with time. Very few escapes me
