Was going to sling something simple together, how does this stand with ur games today, not on 1080p but lower.

AMD FX-6 6300 - 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz - AMD 790 Motherboard
750w psu
Ati 7790 card.

It all seems ok ive seen bf3 etc running at high's on 40-60 stable and on crisis on ultra with AA at same sort of frames.

Pretty surprised seeing as the card is really only a £100 card. but seems to cope well.

Feedback on anyone having knowlege with the two main items pls.

Looks solid to me, won't be maxing out the gfx options for all the games but kids are usually just happy to be able to play, they don't care about the fine details.

Unless you teach them about it, then you're in for some shit. Laughing

Im guessing its the gfx card that is the lower item Very Happy - but still I was going to give him something much less, I think the 7790 is on par with the gtx 650ti - meh hope its suitable for most of things he wishes to play along side me with.. shit . my pc is surely worse at dual core e6600 and ati 4870 card so surely what I play he should be able to also lol?

I wouldn't go for a dual GPU solution in all honesty, go for a 650/ti instead perhaps Smile

I was under the impression that the 7790 was a dual GPU card!

460 will go on for ages. lots of old cards will really, most games where I see people having mucho issues of late are where u need more cores, because devs are starting to offload more now onto multi core cpu's, from arma to gw2 etc etc.

wherever there is now many people in a fight or AI on mass core offloading is the way to go. gfx well shit me personally can live with the lowest of the low, as long as its got AA texture quality means very little to me.

And when you are a kid its also the same I think. Gameplay and being sucked into a world is what we liked when we were younger.

Dont forget that games are starting to require lots of VRAM, 460 doesnt have much to spare.

I concur. Buy a 550/600w one and invest in a better GPU.

R7 2700x @4GHz / MSI B450 Tomahawk / beQuiet! Dark Rock 4 / 32GB @3000 MHz / MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z / Samsung 850 EVO 250GB / Western Digital 1TB / Fractal Design Meshify C Dark / SuperFlower Leadex Gold 650W / DELL whatever 27 inch IPS

more vram though is good for pre loading textures, it may not always be a big deal to have that but it can help with the loading of areas as you are running along in big scene type stuff? is that correct yes Very Happy
