"The fear of having no internet is rooted in the subconscious fear of having no access to free porn."
Enis, P. : Reasons. Vienna, 1969, p.101.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

The power is back on Maintenance job was only 20 minutes overdue
That estimate was way off, APC run out of juice barely minutes after I submitted my post.
As I went to sleep at around 08:00 today, it was the APC alarm in the other room that woke me up at 13:00. Consumer model can't turn the sound on it off So, if it wasn't for the alarm I might have actually slept thru all of this
And yeah every time power goes out for a long time I wish I had 4G phone. I am still using
Sony Ericsson T630
That phone survived so many falls to concrete without any damage and still on the same battery. And I even have the spare one for it
Yep, that's me. Almost never buy new things while older works and their functionality is enough for me

@sausje: That's display from APC Back-Ups Pro 1500. But I replaced power cable in outlet splitter from wall plug to UPS plug. So in addition to PC and display I have also connected land line phone, router, lan switch and table lamp to the UPS

Ah like that, i managed to snatch an older model about 1.5 years ago. 3 of those for €50 in total.

You haven't felt true horror WB until you've stayed almost two weeks without internet access. No internet from the phone either. It happened to me back in the summer, I felt like Robinson Crusoe.
When the line was fixed after an indecent amount of angry phone calls, it was one of the best moments that I have ever experienced. From the Life of an internet addict, vol III xD
