If they remake Minesweeper I hope they do it properly. I hope it will have an amazingly gritty and mature story and the gameplay will be minimal. Story is all that matters in a game. Here's how the game should progress:
Intro cinematic with lots of explosions and QTEs that shows the backstory of the Smiley character. Then we go into a really dramatic scene with even more QTEs where there's a sex scene with Smiley and his wife and then terrorist mines attack their house and kill Smiley's entire family while capturing and torturing him for months. He then finally manages to escape while finding out about the Terrorist Mine Boss's plans to conquer the world, which of course is called Amuricka! This is where he decides that he can't leave, he has to save the world. He beats one of the terrorist mines in an extremely cinematic QTE-filled scene and takes his AK-47, but he then realizes that it's a shitty weapon for commies and he finds an M16 and goes on a killing spree with that, getting rid of all the evil terrorist mines, including the Terrorist Mine Boss in an even more cinematic scene filled with even more QTEs. Then EXPOSUREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Then some chick shows up and they have dramatic sex and the Amurickan anthem plays in the background with random Amurickan flags flying in the wind! FUCK YEAH!!!
Get on that Microsoft! It'll be the Game of the Forever! It'll sell billions of copies, making it the most financially succesful thing ever! Boom!

I know this is not popular opinion here ... but I have faith in them.
MS gets a lot of bad rep, and I get it why, as well. But imho they have done a lot of good decisions lately - on engineering and software architecture level, not marketing, that still sucks.
I *gasp* kind of get, what their concept is with xbox1, and find it a good concept, although miscommunicated.

Here's why it's not going to suck:
For MS it wasn't crucial to do more for gamers before, because they dominated the OS scene without this step. Now they have competition, so now they have to focus to keep people in their ecosystem. A lot has changed since Vista times. Let's stop thinking of these guys, as if they were morons. They know, what's in their interest.
I have worked with many MS products as a developer, and am really pleased with the quality of their products, if now gamers are a priority for them, they will deliver. They didn't have to, until now. Now they must, so they will.

Forza.

That's what they have to offer. That along with (I strongly suspect) a nod toward soshul gaming.

MS says they will support PC gaming every single year when asked about their PC gaming support.
They need more action than their worthless words from PR muppets.
I'm hoping Valve and AMD removes MS stranglehold from PC gaming with SteamOS and Mantle.
They have been nothing but a parasite for the last 5-10 years.

Yeah. Although they do say the same crap every year, it is important for them not to lose customers to the new Steam OS. So maybe they will start releasing games for the PC now. I will be pirating every single one of them though, because I haven't forgotten about their empty promises they have given us for the last few years.

They don't care, if you pirate them or not. They care about the ecosystem war. Always have, even before it was called that. They rather have someone pirate all their software, than have someone use competing software. That's why cracking windows has always been cake.
Exception is in enterprise, of course.

I sure hope that they don't bring gfwl 2.0 back. And only games i care about which ms owns (i think) are their rts ones, proper aoe,rise of nations etc. don't care about their console line up.

No seriously, I don't see any single reason to be interested here unless they decide to give us stuff like Quantum Break or Forza. If they're really planning to bring Halo, Gears and nuFable to the PC again , they can have all my nopes.
It's probably something about Kinect 2.0, Live Rebirth and the upcoming Windows 8.1 Deluxe made-for-gamers Edition though, so there's nothing to worry about.

I have no hope nor expectation from Mircosoft, but the more competition the better. I don't want to see Valve dominating OS as well. They are already in control of digital sells. Let's hope Mircosoft smartens up and put on a good fight.

Well it's not totally unexpected that they would do something like that (start developing more games).
If MS isn't stupid as fuck they know that games is one of the major things keeping people on the Windows platform. Now with AMDs mantle and assuming nVidia comes up with a rivaling technology (nvapi 2.x ?) making games for OS X and Linux will become alot easier and more of a regular thing (hopefully). If that happens and MS doesn't respond in anyway they will loose ppl to OS X and Linux (and some fuckers to BSD i'm sure). That wouldn't be a good thing for MS so it's only natural that they respond
