@sabin1981 exactly my point. I'm not saying that OP is, but most of the V fans seem to be some kind of anarchist and wannabe rebels.
For me he was just a failed almost-terrorist-person.
I think the good part of V For Vendetta is that almost everyone can relate to the feelings of the characters in the movie in relation to the censorship and crimes of the government. I don't think you have to necessarily be an anarchist to be a big fan of the movie, you just have to dislike censorship, corruption and actions that take away peoples freedom.
And even if you don't, the character of V is just so god damn awesome on his own.

Still a comic to me, "graphic novel" is used too many times to try to separate it from comics so you won't get mocked for bringing it up.
So I look at all of them and treat them as comics
