She barely did any schooling.
They had a child hood. Many episodes they were having fun and shit and occasionally save the day just to go back to what they were doing. Wtf.
Bubbles and blossom had a childhood and friends and shit and buttercup was the grump whod actually resent it.
Wtf. Its a nice spin, and good for original content. Shittybfor Powerpuff girls. :/

If they did it right, it would be awesome.
Bubbles and blossom continuing being super heroes.
They identity known. And buttercup being on the street, dyke security guard, hiding her abilities. All of them living in different cities.
Word ending event happens that buttercup discovers but doesn't want to be a hero anymore and watches her sisters get beaten over and over and over and eventually comes back to train them and help them.
Like... watching the cartoon how did anyone ever get the idea that they missed out on their childhood? There were a few eps where their childhood adventures got interrupted but they always dealt with it asap to go back to being kids. Like who missed the point? They were able to balance their lives and got help to do so as well.

@Wanda: Those are some good points and I was wondering about a lot of those things. Seems like CW is portraying their early days with angst and sadness for the #Grittyreboot
Wonder who they will cast as HIM? I bet that will become a huge online debate

As an original show it would be great.
Do a quick snippet of their backstories how they had to do everything but be children to save the world every single day. Not call it Powerpuff girls. Call it something else but draw from the cartoon and create your own story. It would be fantastic. A cw version of the boys. Merge it with the arrowverse and done.
It could be decent how they do it. But I dont see what they see. I'll check it out when it comes out. Race Bending doesn't matter unless they make it about their skin colour in the show.

I agree.
It feels like someone had a vague idea for a superhero show, but wanted it to have pre-canned name recognition it can mooch off of without having to build from scratch and establish 'footing' on its own. So they duct taped a powerpuff girl mask onto their story, tweaked it and pasted in the characters of that show so it fits 'enough' and went "Bam! Fresh instant classic. I get to do the show story I want, with the bonus of a decade of another show's recognition to jump start it"

Yeah but fans of the show will not be drawn to it as it cancels the history of the show. I watched it as a kid and never got that vibe from it. It's weird. Then again they did a reboot, and I only watched one episode where they fought manchildbaby bad guy and it turned me off. So maybe that explored this new idea. I've no clue.
As for him, Christian slater in drag.
Or Ru Paul and every time him shows up, it'll be in a new grotesque red outfit.

Mojo jojo obviously cgi but I'd prefer a kid who never ages wearing monkey pajamas and being far more vile than in the cartoon

Mayor has got to be a woman.
And her assistant still got be ms. Bellum and she has to be a sexy model skin colour doesn't matter and she has to be tall. Amazon height and we never see her face.
There is so much they can do if they wanna go gritty.
And just use the cartoons as they retell their stories keeping their innocence intact. Like a flashback of blossom reminiscing beating mojo jojo in the shiny cartoon fashion and then a real flash back filled with blood, screaming, brutal violence.
Like so much potential

He will probably end up being some sort of Mojo Jojo science experiment with cloning but when I saw that news about the casting I was thinking the same thing you posted and thought it was kind of funny as it reminded me of that Netflix kids cartoon Bigfoot Family where it shows Bigfoot with his smiling human wife and human son next to him on the poster which gives off the same vibes.

Well in the cartoons professor had the hots for bellum as well as their teacher. The puffs needed a mother and he knew that. Always blushing and shiet. So its sort of accurate that they'd hook up in a grown up version.

Damn, I can't remember any of that for some reason. I still don't understand why they couldn't have a normal relationship then. CW must have some stipulation that requires some relationship drama to be there in every show it airs

I'm trying to wrap my head around hiring young adults in a movie based on cartoon for teenagers where the girls were in elementary school.
