Well my G19 is now fully broken.

A few months ago, i bashed it too hard and the F1 key got stuck (not physical).
After trying countless things to fix it, i had one last effort today.
I basically cut out the part where the F1 was located in the 3 layers inside.
That did solve my problem, but left me with 4 other keys unusable, ones i can't miss..

So yeah, that was it for my G19, it served me well for 3 years and 14 days..
Shame that it's even gone up in price.. so can't afford a new one..

But not all was lost, i managed to salvage, what is IMO, the most important parts from it:

So when the renovation of my pc room arrives next year, i will make a nice spot for it in my desk.

Now, i need a good solid mechanical keyboard advised.
One that ain't over the top expensive, my budget is quite low since i only recently managed to get out of debts..

Yeah was wondering that, warranty has been exceeded by a year already, plus the thing is already in pieces now.
So how would i pull that off?!

And why would i get the crappy G510?
Not only is the display quite shitty (and i still got my old one), but the keys are waaay closer to each other then the G19 has, thus causing me to constantly press the wrong keys.
Plus it's not mechanical..

I always wondered why people buy shit like the G19 in the first place, my 5€ keyboards have been more than sufficient for my whole life, only thing I will ever upgrade to is a MX Red mechanical one.

Well i can't say that i wasted money.
Having an extra display to keep eye on hardware stats is what i wanted.
And since the G19 was the only one with a proper display, well i had no other choice..

I can recommend the G710+, it's really awesome. I actually like that it's using brown switches. I could also recommend the Corsair K90 but it's not fully mechanical and it bothered me more than I'd like to admit (K95 fixes this problem).

However, I have to point out that I bought the G710+ when it was 800SEK (it's currently around 1400) so I bought it due to it being quite cheap (for a mechanical KB).

Yeah price is up to €135+ for the G710+ same goes for K95.
Don't need any keyboard with macro's anymore tho, barely used them on my G19 anyway.

I've got them set up to do certain things in windows which is ace. But in that case maybe someone else could give you better advice, I know someone posted a pic of different mechanical keyboards.

I made a typo. Was thinking bout k95.
I would love to get it but it is indeed too expensive for me to ever spend on a keyboard (:

besides typical logitech stuff there is not much in that price range.
Logitech G110
Razer Deathstalker

or if You want to look like a dick, when sitting at Your desk Mad Catz Cyborg Gaming Keyboard V7 Laughing

edit:
What about ?
Microsoft SideWinder X4 Gaming - my friend has it. it have really nice finish and red backlight it really nice

But those are all normal ones right, none of them are mechanical..
And a big no on Razer products, never ever ever again!!

Tho the V7 looks nice, but i would prefer to have my own color to it.. Or just blue, not red. Doesn't fit at all in my room.. All my lights are blue here, not a single red light in this room..

Yeah around that you can get Razer Black Widow or non backlit Qpad MK-50 (MX red switches i think), or alternatively some Rosewill ones. Tho i dont recommend the razer one, had one and it broke just after the warranty went away (1 year Very Happy). Funny thing was also that i didnt use it pretty much at all, since i was in army nearly the whole time lol Very Happy Qpad has been very solid (MK-80 mx blue, with blue backlit), very sturdy build quality, one of the better mechanical keyboards out there.

If you never had a mechanical one before, Id suggest looking into figuring out which switches you want on it.
They all are louder, softer, harder, 'clacker' than each other.

I had those as well, but i can't use them anymore on win8 anyway.
I do actually use the display properly, managed to put the info i need on there with LCDHost.
But i managed to save the display itself, next year i'm building my own desk and i will find a place for it Wink

How do i do that tho dx, how can i find out what switches would be good for me?!

@Breezer_

That MK-80 does look very sexy but around €130+ here.. Sad
The MK-50 looks like it has no backlight?

The Rosewill ones look ugly tbh, don't think anyone of them has backlights..
