Wooo! I did it!
It's been a really amazing weekend for me, my birthday was on Friday, turned 28; and I asked my girlfriend to marry me the following day.
It all started with this thread a few years back: http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69825&highlight=
We've been dating for 2 years now, and it's been absolutely amazing.
It was a gorgeous day here on Saturday. So I took the lady out to Central Park in NYC, had a nice breakfast at this French restaurant in the middle of the park, walked around for a bit and just relaxed, talked, enjoyed the day... Then I rented a row boat at the Loeb Boathouse, rowed out to the middle of the lake right under the famous Bow Bridge, and I got down on one knee (not so easy to do in a row boat lmao), pulled out the box, showed her the ring, told her I loved her and asked her if she would marry me. She said yes 
Worked out beautifully, and now we have a wedding to plan. Shooting for a winter wedding, but we still have a lot to discuss.

Well done! I wish I weren't such an idiot when asking my wife to marry me... wasn't romantic or special at all... but when the funds are where they should be, I plan to re-do that part properly... as a surprise of course
