SteamWorld Heist is a game about space adventures and survival. Recruit a team of rag-tag robots to explore and scavenge the remains of a destroyed world. Board enemy ships and command your crew in a unique variety of turn-based combat.
SteamWorld Heist will be released some time in spring 2015. We’re aiming to release it for all platforms, and we’re now deciding on the release schedule – which platform goes first and so on.

SteamWorld Heist, the turn-based strategy spin-off/sequel to SteamWorld Dig, is coming to all the platforms, developer Image & Form has announced.
More specifically, 3DS, Wii U, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux are currently on the docket, though the exact order has yet to be determined.
"We'll apply the so-called staggered release strategy, meaning we'll bring Heist to one (maybe two) of the platforms on day one, then release it for the next platform, etc," the developer said on its blog. "It makes a lot of sense to a small developer like us, since we don't have the muscles to release on all platforms at once. At least not if we want to keep our games optimised, full of Easter eggs and free from bugs, and we take pretty big pride in doing that."
Comedown city - bein a naif who doesn't read/hear/think about games until they r clutched in my sweaty paws I clicked on the link thinkin this was a story bout a mob separating valve from lucre - but no its just another poorly realised waste of time and money by a bunch hoping that their ticket to wealth n fame was gonna win the lottery.
NEXT!
OK too obscure. The subject of this thread'steamworks heist' or whatever confused my simple mind. I thought I was gonna find out how some mob had managed to burn steam/valve for much money - but I was wrong the thread was just another discussion about an Indie game that some peeps have sweated blood over in the hope they will get to be rich/famous and any of the other goals desperate s set themselves.
In other words just another of a zillion hump threads where humpers get to drop their load of angst on the nearest target by criticizing the game for having the cheek to exist.
was that better?
mebbe google translate need to do a boomer to pseudo hipster & back dictionary.
Looks great and I like the details but I'm not convinced on the actual depth of the gameplay. OK, you move your units behind cover and go for headshots, what else is there?
Weapon selection, active and passive skills, character progression/levelling, maybe an Overworld map to plan missions and travel ... do they have anything?
As much as I prefer Sony/Playstation to MS/Xbone, I'm getting a little tired of Sony's ridiculous push for timed or mini exclusives. It seems to be happening a hell of a lot lately and it seems pointless... the exclusive period isn't long enough to make a great effect on income, and it's often short enough just to be irritating for the non-chosen-platform owners.
Still, negativity aside, the game is looking surprisingly good and I look forward to checking it out
yeah kinda weird to see it release in such strange waves in this day and age
3DS rls... 5 months... Sony rls...very very soon after .... Steam rls..... shortly after ... XO/WiiU rls
There's the yarr version in happy torrent form around in case anyone is interested (~300MB)
The art-style/turn-based combo intrigued me, so I gave it a try out of curiosity, but alas, I didn't find it as good as I expected. The game is pretty and the basics do work fine (you can shoot bouncy bullets and invent all kinds of neat trajectories for instance), though it lacks depth overall (the whole thing feels.. simplistic), and the level design is too much on the repetitive side for my tastes. I shall pass!
