Started burning dvd-s for my home cinema, but now i discovered that at least half of the 720p rips i have are like a few mb too big for DVD-s. Whats the fucking point of making a bluray rip in the 4.37 size if it's just a bit over the limit thus requiring me to buy dual layer dvds. Am I failing somewhere here or is it just some extraordinary trolling by the scene?

You're doing something wrong. DVD-R is 4.7GB. Most rips are like 4.4-4.5 GB.

Rips should fit fine with 50ish MB on the DVD to spare.

4,700,000,000 / 1024 / 1024 /1024 = 4.377GB

E: ive got a bluray player that only is compatible with FAT32 format, should probably upgrade to something better soon tho, i agree.
E: weird that burning with win explorer it seems to fit or at least the disk started burning. Im using CDburner XP usually.
