and this is what irritates me on this forum, people act like America is the only place stupid shit happens and retards exist. Kid gets shot here, 10 pages of people saying hur dur murica. It happens in Europe, 10 pages of people trying to assess the situation.
All that aside, I'd personally like to put a bullet in each one of those fucker's skulls. I just trained 3 new employees where I work, one being FROM Africa. Only 2 are still there but the guy I'm training for the past week is a fucking warrior. Show him what to do once, that's fucking it. He pushes himself 8 hours a day no matter the sweat involved. Told my plant manager if they don't keep him on full time when they decide to let the temps go, I'm going to kick him in the nuts till they're in his throat (we're close and he has a good sense of humor lol)

It's not so much that we think america is the only playce where stupid things happen, but somehow america has become this place where being insane is acceptable (thx to fox news ). Not wearing a flag pin can cost you the election for president of the country, people believing contrary to all evidence that the president is secretly a muslim, religion being a huge part of the government, people defending owning automatic guns for private purposes (are you fucking kidding me?), and it's not that a child being shot doesn't happen anywhere else but it happens waaaaay more in the states, poor people being against universial health care, still not even trying to implement the metric system (even brittain has come around), believeing in trickle down economy(even suggesting something like that in europe would end your political carreer), and albeit all those flaws still thinking america is the greatest country in the world and all others are shit is just baffling. This list could go on for many pages, and I'm not saying america is worse than other countries, I'm even confident that a huge part of america is still intelligent and the stupidity is just a very vocal minority (even though a big minority). It's just that these people are tolerated.
We have a huge amount of corruption, problems and stupidity in europe too, don't get me wrong, just look at berlusconi for example, but we are still not encouraging stupidity.
That's the problem, what happens with Euro's news is the exact problem that's going on in this country, you only hear about what's going on in the news which is run by a bunch of idiots.
People owning automatic weapons for personal defense?? You know how extremely rare that is here? You have to not only pay 5K+ to buy one, assuming you can find someone to buy it from and an FFL to handle it, then a 2K dollar stamp tax per EACH one you own, but you also have to own a class 3 federal license which costs 5K to get and that's ONLY if you pass the test and get written permission from your local sheriff.
And that's not to say people use the wrong terminology on EVERYTHING when it comes to firearms, even down to something simple as calling a magazine a clip, it's not a clip and clips haven't been used since the M1 Garand. People call AR-15's assault rifles, well they're not assault rifles, those are reserved for military/police. People who own a gun that looks like an AK-47 like to brag they own an AK-47, well not only is it not an assault weapon, it's not an AK-47, it's a WASR 10 because it's a semi automatic variant with a longer barrel since we also have barrel restrictions too.
They won't tell you any of this in the news because ignorance is the way to control people. People in Europe can act brilliant all they want because they watch the news and hear about all the shit going on here, fact is, they can't even report it any better than what's going on here in the states, it really just makes them hypocrites.

I'm not really even that big of a weapon nerd. I just own firearms for personal recreational use so I have to know about the laws and safety of them.
Guess you have to live and grow up here to be OK with them, I can see why you guys are ok with not being able to get them so easily. I have a few anti-gun friends who think they're the worst creation on the planet. I took them out trap/skeet shooting, they all own at least a shotgun now.
That's trap shooting, and it's a BLAST. I know Epsilon once said he plans on taking a trip here, and when he does, I'm taking him out to try it
I've never done trap shooting, but my boarding school used to have an air-rifle club and we used to go out wood pigeon shooting every weekend. I was pretty damned good at it too, second in the school, but then Dunblane happened and the English government went apeshit nuclear, immediately shutting down the club. A friggin' AIR RIFLE shooting club, not like we were running around with uzis and shotguns. I've never shot a real shotgun, though I'd love to try
