I'm expecting this to flop sooooooooooo bad, box-office wise 
Seems like they'll be forced to play a bajillion dollars more to RDJ alone(add to that that he seems to be helping the rest of the cast getting higher paychecks also) while at the same time hoping for the success of the first movie... we'll see

RDJ was smart with his first contract. He got in a clause saying that he would get a certain percentage of the first day box office gross from the movies he made with Marvel. Obviously Iron Man and the Avengers did pretty damn well, so he made tons of money. Smart move on his part and his agent years ago, and he probably won't be able to get quite the same for his next contract. We'll see what happens.

They are probably gonna stay clear of any percentage based gross profit, especially for ensemble films like The Avengers. But I wont be surprised if they dont throw 150 million plus at him for another 3-4 movie contract and a cut of the gross on the Iron Man movies.

Well the next movie featuring Iron Man is going to be Avengers 2 (they confirmed no other IM movie in Phase 2) and if RDJ demands too much $$$ it might also be his last one.
Whatever the case no way that they'll replace him before Avengers 2.

RUMOR: Hawkeye is Not a Part of Marvel Studios' Phase 2 and Jeremy Renner Could be Recast
tl;dr
1) Renner dissatisfied with his role in The Avengers => Marvel doesn't want him anymore either.
2) Seems to be absent from all MCU Phase 2 films, while all other characters return (even Black Widow, despite not getting her own movie, she is in Captain America 2).
3) His last chance is to appear in The Avengers 2, but it's more likely if the character appears that he will be recast.
4) If the character is recast it's possible he'll be in both the TV series Agents of SHIELD, joining the primary cast, and the movies
The bold is what seems to be a fact.
The underlined is what I can absolutely see them doing. They can't afford to bring the big actors on TV, nor the superheroes that require lots of CGI, so just cast a guy to shoot CGI arrows as the (not so)super hero link between movies and TV show.

No loss here. I only enjoyed Renner in Hurt Locker and MI4. In all other movies he is just wooden and boring.
