Congrats my dear, you deserve it!
Now arm yourself with a load of 1080p movies and shows and enjoy the hell out of it!
It's a 3D right? Get TRON 3D.

Yes it is 3D!!!!
Deserving it, I don't know about that but I get it because I worked for it and I was patient. ...I've been waiting a long time to be in this position.
I was going to get a huge Imac but I don't need it. I can do everything on my MacBook and it's a smart TV. Still learning about my features. I share the wifi in the new place and it's included in my rent but if I end up hogging bandwidth I won't use that feature - But I will when I buy my own place. Then I will arm myself with the heavy speeds.
I don't have any 3D downloads. Looks like I got some downloading to do. And glasses to buy. It isn't hooked up yet. Outta the box and on the floor. I need a stand and a few cables.
It cost about 2.5 paychecks but I have been saving since I started working 5 months ago. After stocking up my new pad with the necessities the big spending is done now. I have to be careful from here on out.

My sister bought LG 42LM620S, also has 3D, I can't wait to try it
I love to see when there are ppl who are really excited when they buy some new tech stuff, it makes me feel comortable knowing I'm not the only one who does that xD

Download some 3D as we speak.
All these little pain in the ass things, I forget shit when I don't use it. My cable to HDMI is fried. So I am watching movies off a flash drive. SOOOO EXCITED!!! Grabbed a 3D to check it out, forgot you can't transfer anything over 4 gb unless you do....something, replacing. So I stuck it on my external drive. Unfortunately Externals aren't recognized. Thought I would give it a shot.
So now I am splitting them up. It's too bad that when I do something I gotta drive to my new place to see it if works. (Cuz still at the house)
Got the cable up. No adaptor, had to dig around in boxes at the house to find one. Then forgot it on the counter when I left yesterday. Now it's up there. I don't know if I have HDTV channels yet either. It's Telus and I have only used Shaw. Haven't had the time to play around with stuff..
Anybody know if reg 3d glasses you get from theaters work? I thought you had to buy them, they have batteries. TV specific. but someone told me today the movie theater ones work?

Samsung's have active 3D glasses that need batteries. LG's have passive 3D where you have glasses similar to the cinema ones.
And congrats to you for the new TV:)

Ohh, that explains a lot. So the guy I was talking to had LG.
I should just be able to download 1080p 3d movies right? I grabbed a ocean documentary one and on my computer it was 2 screens. Would that one work maybe? I want to go over and check right now but I'm stuck in North Vancouver for the whole night.

Maybe you don't need to split them. I just checked your TV's e-manual and it seems you can easily format USB flash drive to NTFS file system in order to copy files larger than 4GB.
The manual also mentions some external HDDs requiring high power may not be supported; HDDs with external power source are preferable.

I was reading up on NTFS, but haven't had the time to play around with it. Another option.
External power source. The one I used that didn't work had did not have an external power source. I have one at a friends house so I will grab that one when it's there. It has a who wack of movies already on it so I don't want to reformat that one.
I have a firewire one, that I had to get an adaptor to a different firewire port for the newer - older mac. I can dump all my good shit from there into my newer extnal one and reformat that one to NTFS and use it as my 3d hdtv stuff... and get a firewire to USB adapter.
I am thinking out loud here.
Thanks for the link. Ill look later after some sleep.

Yeah get an LG TV. Samsungs active 3D is known to cause headaches and other crap for people. LGs use passive and have absolutely no such issues, but it looks the same, albeit the glasses dim the picture a bit but it's far from distracting.
Plus the glasses are dirt cheap and TVs usually come with 4+ of them, so enough for your friends too.
