disconnected phone modem from cable modem (cancelled internet phone)
usenet download speed went from 900kbps to 2mbps \o/ on up to 7mbps plan thing now moving up to up to 28mbps in may. \o/
downloading 22 gigs in 3 hours \o/
can't wait till i can download at 4 mbps when i upgrade to upto 28mbps... awww yiss canada.

lol what do you live in the middle of saskatchewan, 100 km from the highway and civilization? out here in bc (50km from civilization out in the woods) i am on a 50 mbit line that i can max out, great uptime and no complaints from the isp regarding my bandwidth consumption. im not sure if they even have a 7 mbit package any more. my cell is even on a faster line than that ffs.

actually telus is a joke in the last few years. the best they have is '5-25 mbits' for 60/month. im on shaw with 50 mbits and phone for 75. shaw goes up to 250 mbit/unlimited bw for 200. the only thing telus is good for any more is cellular, but they always treated me like shit so i am on rogers...
and i just did a speed test of the rogers lte out here and its ~40 mbit. not sure about telus's 4g/cell, but thats faster than they can get into my house on copper so fuck them lol

i guess Portugal is a shitty countrie but still have strong internet services, i pay 39€ month, and i have more then 80 channels , and 3.5mb download speed constant.

Got 8Mbit, but I'm used to it. Just leave shit to download during the night.
Maximum you can get here is 20Mbit, and that's is at a hefty price, and only if you're lucky and your building/block capacity supports it (which more often than not, it doesn't, even in urban areas).
They are speaking about laying down optical cabling everywhere, and starting a new telecom company to manage them. So I'm hoping the situation will improve soon.

speed tests are so unreliable  and possibly made up here in north america.
this is not a e-peen thread. it's a i saved a bunch of monies disconecting my internet phone and got a speed boost thread.
buddy of mine is on a up to 28mbit... and his usenet speeds are max 3.4 not really worth the extra 10 dollars for my bill i'll stick with the cheaper cervix.
