I'm looking into purchasing a 7" tablet at less than 200€, and I can get a Blackberry Playbook 32GB for 169€. I know that this tablet is a complete failure for RIM, but the specs of this thing are really great. The very limited selection of apps sounds like the biggest downside, but I'm not really interested in apps. It sounds like a good deal to me. Any thoughts?

I bought a couple of nexus 7 for my daughters, they seem lovely (the tablets, my daughters are spawns of Satan)

Have a deep long think about this. My girlfriend got a Kindle Fire for Christmas, and it's almost certainly going to be returned - the lack of specific book-reading features is one thing, but when you're limited in apps, it really feels like a let-down. Basic things that you would think a 7" tablet should be able to do but can't really weigh on the enjoyment of the whole thing.

Any reason why you avoid the Nexus 7?

You make a very good point, I'm new to tablets so I probably underestimate the need for good apps. And no Skype app for Playbook is a serious letdown.

I hadn't looked at it yet since it's 249€ and was trying to stick to a budget, but the hardware is better and it has Android OS. Sounds like an excellent deal!

I haven't used a Nexus 7 myself, but I've read nothing but raving reviews about it. The hardware isn't top-notch, but at that price it's still the best value for your money.

I have Nexus 7 and so far i havent found better 7" tablet. Nothing cant beat the price/performance of this little thing. Tegra 3 games looks awesome, and play nicely on the tablet. The tablet overall is as fluid as iPad (yes unfortunately my brother is a apple fanboy). There are some quality control issues, but for the price you cant ask more.
Waiting next Nexus 7 with Tegra 4 (pretty sure there is gonna be one) :> Tegra 4 seems to be pretty awesome.
