Right, surely no adblocking software will be able to pierce through this anti-blocking measures...

That said I grew tired from their "progressive" bullshit and stopped visiting after the rimworld controversy.
Not much of a loss for either side, really.

Whenever a site asks me to disable my adblocker, I just leave. Sometimes even clicking the "FU, I'll continue adblocking" button is too much of a bother when it pops up every damn time I want to read another article. These days, I simply cannot trust any site. They'll say that all their ads are safe and unintrusive, but their ad partner only need to slip up once.

Imgur had a few run-ins with this. For a little while I kept seeing posts about malware ridden ads on the front page. I'll keep my adblock on, thankyouverymuch.

Claims there won't be any autoplaying videos and yet I immediately get a autoplay video from youtube. Not a reader anywhere, just unblocked to read the complaints they had

You just select the pop-up with the element picker and block it.

Also works for those annoying cookie pop-ups "we have to pretend to comply with the EU's privacy laws, but we won't actually let you opt out like we're supposed to, so just click OK to continue letting us spy on you".

Yeah those are annoying, Accept / Reject and it's more like OK / Alright.

At least it can all be blocked with a little bit of work. Smile

Heh. Cool, hope they burn in a dumpster fire. Polygon, kotaku & destructoid can follow. Then IGN, then Gamespot, then Eurogamer, then PC Gamer. Then, and maybe only then, we can get some objective game news sites, instead of the opinion-piece fest we get today.

Working fine for me too.

Using Privacy Possum, Google Analytics Blocker and uBlock Origin.

This thread is the only reason I went to check out RPS though, haven't been there in a long time.

After Gamergate proved the gaming press is disingenuous, I decided I want to see them close. People should trust independent personalities on Youtube, with Totalbiscuit as the archetype for objectivity and sticking to PC standards regarding 60 fps, optimisation, texture quality, fov settings etc.
