Since like ~6 months or so, it seems IMPOSSIBLE to run a game on 2 screens anymore.
Before i was able to have with any game, 1 image on my monitor and the other copies over to the HDTV in the livingroom.
But somehow this won't work anymore, the screen in the livingroom keeps being black, while it does work when i'm in windows, just never in game anymore..
Anyone else with similar setup noticed this?

So it clones when you're in Windows but not in game? I never had any problems with two monitors, TV shouldn't be different really. Perhaps some performance setting or a specific game? Because some games force exclusive mode (Hitman actually allows you to turn that on or off, which is great, job well done Nixxes). Check the 3D performance settings, because I've got a setting for that in my Nvidia control panel as well (needs to be put on multi screen mode).

All settings are stock, so it shouldn't be like that.
But yeah, in windows (and windowed mode) i can have a clone on my tv, but when going fullscreen (with FC3 for example) i can't get any image shown on the tv (tho now that i think of it, it might be because of DX11 games?)

Try Hitman, turn the exclusive mode off.

FC3 works fine here in clone mode.
Although it messes with RadeonPro somewhat... the tweaks don't quite work and I even had some nasty Vsync issues and flickering in the main menu. Otherwise it was all good.
With no RP enabled, there are no issues at all.

Yes, but i had the same problem on win7, so it isn't because of win8

Well that one works, so does this mean that most games force exclusive mode and i'm unable to produce a clone unless they give me such option (like in hitman)?
I mean if so, why would they want to do that other then be annoying? And why is it only happening as of late?

It's not happening "as of late", games have been doing that for a long time; only a handful force exclusive mode though. That said, like I said, there may be a 3D setting to force multi-monitor mode. Whether it'll work, I don't know. Doesn't make any difference on Nvidia, I just need it set to multimonitor mode to prevent it from lagging like shit in games (it still does in Windows though ).

With forcing multi-monitor mode setting, you mean in CCC right?
I have looked there and cannot find anything related to that.
I did a little searching aswell, but couldn't find anything so fast on it.
So basically i'm screwed then with games that force exclusive fullscreen?

The only game that gave me any trouble with multiple monitors recently, was MOHW. It had the same issues that BF3 had in the early days (must be a Frostbite thing that they fixed for BF): the second screen would either be simply black or would have a "screenshot" of whatever was on the screen when the game launched or you maximised it.
You could Alt+Tab a few times and hope that it gets working... often enough it does after 5 or 6 attempts, other times I just gave up.
In any case, my point is that it's likely there is something wrong on your end as well, sausje. You did mention FC3, and it works fine for me as I said earlier, for example.
Have you tried running something like Atiman Unistaller and making a clean installation of the drivers? Although since you said it had been the same both with W7 and W8, I imagine a clean installation was already done at some point...

yeah the windows install is only about 2 weeks old, did install newest beta drivers with latest caps, so that there is a driver conflict seems kinda unlikely.
I didn't give the alt tabbing a try, but it's indeed happening as you said, when in windows all is fine, but when the game starts, it seems to loose connection to the HDMI and i get a check signal on my tv
But it's kinda odd that it's working for you with FC3, because it does work for me with Hitman:A but not with FC3.
I should do a test to see if with hitman in non exclusive mode it will work.

The fact that your TV actually loses the signal is weird. Mine will simply blank out at worst, it won't disable the connection itself.
Maybe it's some kind of a Crossfire issue?

That might be the case actually, altho both the DVI and HDMI are plugged in the top card, because i know that you cannot use the display output on the second card with crossfire enabled.
