So anti government protests and of course some assholes started fighting with the police. Since everything is going on 50m from where i live, i cannot go to my balcony or open a fucking window since there's so much mace in the air :/

Also there are 10 robocops under my building and a goddamn chopper hovering right over my building.

Now i cannot go out since there's mace everywhere... Interesting Friday...

Slovenian here too. Damn idiots ruined a perfectly fine peaceful demonstration and turned it into a riot for their own stupid causes.

And yeah, they're calling the policemen Robocops because of their body armor Razz

Whats going on in Slovenia stari ('stari' is closest translation for dude I have been told) that warrants protests and mace/tear gas?
Austerity like Greece or something?

It all started in Maribor (second largest city) with spontaneous protests against their mayor (who's a giant crook) and the police got a little too violent. That got the ball rolling, so this week there were protest in every mayor city in Slovenia, all of them facebook/social media organized.

Yesterday's one was against the government and a couple of our crooks in general and there were around 10000 people. All was peaceful for quite some time (all the cops took flowers for fuck sake) but then around 100 Nazi's showed up, suspiciously well organized and then everything went to hell. First time in history a water cannon was used.

So yeah Nazi's doing shit at a protest against a right wing government? You do the math. Thank god most people aren't falling for it.

Luckily only 15 people and 3 cops got hurt, none seriously. They arrested 30.

The problem is we want more people at the protests against the corrupted crooks in our government... and all that these nazi's (or whoever they were) did was that they detracted the people that were only watching the protest on TV to join for real next time. This riot is only going to serve the government to say NO to the next protest, bring even more police and just generally turn this into a mess.

Not to derail the thread, but afaik that's where most political historians etc. put nazism/national socialism to. Granted back when nazis were active, being anti-communist was enough to get you lumped into the 'right', but the left/right categorization as a whole is pretty flawed, anyway. Was then, and is now.

Cops are in the same mess as us, normal citizens. They're just obliged to defend government no matter how much government fucks them in the ass. It's just some fucktards who use these protests to escalate them into violent ones for fun.
