I bought a G500 almost a year ago but the crappy thing broke. Apparently Logitech is starting to cheap out on the switches and they break. Either mouse double-clicks when you single click, or in my case it randomly lets go while I'm holding down the button, which makes dragging/resizing windows, selecting text or playing some games near impossible.

I would RMA it, but threads like this:

make me feel like its just going to break again in a few months.

Any ideas for a decent mouse, that will hopefully not break within a year?

Depends on how much you're willing to spend.
My NAOS 5000 is fantastic, ergonomic as fuck and works like a charm. However it's a 70€ mouse. o.O
The logitech G9x is excellent and has a fuck-load of features (same as the G500) but I found it more durable than the G500.

I'll pay as much as needed as long as it will last. It just needs to be decent quality and have at least two nicely placed extra buttons on the left side.

NAOS looks nice but I haven't heard much about the Mionix company, are they new?

G9x looks nice but I don't particularly like the shape. Not sure how will it fit my hand. But it's my #1 choice for now.

I had a Logitech G6 for years and years and grew annoyed that it was never built for "palming." Got a Razer Deathadder over the summer and its probably the most comfortable mouse i've used. I do miss the physical buttons that change DPI though.. useful in BF3 when you're on a tank turret Very Happy
