So i'm in need of a couple of new HDD's. Any recommendations? was looking at http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=653074 Is it any good? Not looking for anything expensive, but i want them to be fast, reliable and fairly large. And not too expensive!

There is nothing to really pick from, it's either Seagate or WD, and either company is either hit and miss but I have not had any bad experience with both of them. I would probably pick up WD Black 2TB because well, it has 5yrs warranty while others are either 1yrs, or 2yrs max, well green ha 3yrs, and seagete 3TB has 1yr warranty

what would a system with windows 7's boot up difference would be tween a WD Blue 1TB 5400RPM and a 2TB Black 7200RPM...?..also,program/game loading differences.. I don't care about booting times I'm gonna use them mainly for storage, and i think i'm gonna use one of them for installed games.

I didnt have a lot of good experiences with Samsung in the last couple of years. 3 F1s died between 2 and 3 years of usage. So I would not especially recommend Samsung. I'm with you on that one, same bad luck (except it was a ridiculous 5 for me, oldest barely being 2 years old). Only WD I've had fail was my late 320 GB drive...after nearly 7 years. One of the very first SATA2 drives.

Recent Seagates seem to be just as reliable, they seem to have redeemed themselves since buying Maxtor (early 2000s I had several of theirs fail as well).

Just go for warranty Kenny, I'm pretty sure WD do indeed still have the best warranty. Speed and such are irrelevant unless you do a *lot* of file copying.

@ DV2: will improve somewhat, but not by huge amounts, especially not if you don't keep a clean system. Which you most likely don't, if you keep that big of a drive as your boot drive.

Ok, i think 1 wd 2tb black and 1 seagate 3tb seeing as you have had good experiences with it. It's 3 years warranty for that one, and that's fine. Install my games and such on the 2tb and use the 3tb just for storage.
